1st Shift FinisherPay Range $21.25 to $28.35 The Finisher is responsible for ensuring the castings are fed through the finishing process of inspecting, grinding, cleaning and seasoning.DepartmentOperationsLocationSouth PittsburgExempt StatusNon-ExemptJob DescriptionReports To: Finishing/Packing Supervisor Direct Reports:NoneMission Critical:Reasonable AttendancePositive AttitudeRepetitive movementsStrong Attention to DetailFunctional Relationships: EmployeesSupervisorsOthers as neededResponsibilities: Remove casting from shaker pan.Inspect/Sort castings and place on a conveyor.Remove casting from the conveyor and/or ground and inspect for grinding needs. Ensure quality of casting and place in designated area (first quality, second quality or scrap)Return first and second quality castings to conveyor to go to the Hammond Roto cleaning machine.Remove casting from the Hammond Roto and place on the seasoning line to go through the seasoning process and then into the packing department.Maintain a clean work environment in accordance with the 5L guidelines.Assist with or perform all other job related duties as assigned.Basic Requirements: High school diploma or GED. Summary of Necessary Knowledge, Experience and Skills: Minimum two years related experience and/or training preferred. Working knowledge of PC and Microsoft Office programs preferred. Basic Hand Tool KnowledgeForklift License PreferredWorking Conditions:Job performance requires the employee to stand, lift, grasp, bend and reach. Lifting up to 25lbs.Exposure to moving parts such as the conveyor and grinder.Exposure to a dusty environment and does require safety glasses or goggle with strap at all times and a dust mask/respirator when needed. Goggles with strap or goggles with strap and face shield to be worn by grinders and cleaning machine operators.Hearing protection is required.Exposure to forklift fumes and may be exposed to ambient temperatures of + or – 10 to 15 degrees. Sturdy leather construction shoes are required. Shoes made of canvas or cloth will not be allowed, unless steel-toe. Composite or Steel-Toe Safety Footwear (either slip-off or with spats) is strongly recommended.Leather gloves are required, (Kevlar sleeves are available) for shake out and grinders; rubber gloves are required for Hammond operators; and Lodge uniform or similar protective clothing is required. Aprons are available for Hammond operators.Hard hats are to be worn under chain conveyor areas not protected by basketing.Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
