This role combines technical leadership, people management, and strong execution ownership in a fast‑paced product development environment.\n\nTHE PERSON:\nYou are a collaborative and results‑driven engineering leader with a strong background in system test and product development. You balance technical depth with people leadership, are comfortable guiding teams through complex and ambiguous challenges, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. You take ownership, proactively remove obstacles, and are motivated by delivering high‑quality products to market through strong team execution.\n\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nLead and manage a team of system test engineers supporting Instinct accelerator product development\nDefine and execute system‑level test strategies spanning pre‑silicon planning, post‑silicon bring‑up, customer samples, and high‑volume manufacturing\nDrive alignment on test coverage, validation readiness, and quality metrics across lab, manufacturing, and customer environments\nPartner cross‑functionally with Design, Product Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Business, and Customer Engineering teams\nOversee planning and execution for system test deliverables, schedules, and resource allocation\nIdentify technical, schedule, and quality risks; drive mitigation plans and escalation as needed\nCommunicate program and execution status, risks, and recommendations to senior and executive leadership\nCollaborate closely with globally distributed teams, including Asia‑based engineering and operations organizations\nChampion continuous improvement in test methodologies, tools, processes, and team execution\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:\nExperience leading system test or validation teams in semiconductor product development\nStrong background supporting GPU, accelerator, or complex SoC‑based products\nExperience with pre‑silicon planning, post‑silicon validation, customer sampling, and manufacturing readiness\nProven people management experience, including hiring, mentoring, and performance development\nExperience working in complex, cross‑functional, and geographically distributed engineering environments\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting status and recommendations to senior or director‑level leadership\nProficiency with standard Microsoft tools (e.g., Office, Windows OS) for planning, tracking, and reporting\nACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred\nLOCATION:\nAustin, Texas\n\nThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.\n#LI-LC2\n#LI-Hybrid\nQualifications:\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\n\nAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
