Come join our team!\n\nPOSITION DESCRIPTION\n\nTITLE OF POSITION: Controller\nREPORTS TO: CEO\nDEPARTMENT: Finance and Accounting\n\nGENERAL PURPOSE\nCollect, generate, present, interpret, and distribute timely and accurate financial information and assist all employees in doing their functions. Meet all financial obligations on behalf of vendors, customers, and employees.\n\nDESCRIPTION OF DUTIES\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\n\n1. Maintain general ledger and work with department managers to ensure accuracy.\n2. Perform daily bank reconciliations.\n3. Prepare and distribute accurate financial reports to the appropriate individuals in a timely manner.\n4. Prepare monthly financial performance measures with an emphasis on interpretation of data and actions to improve business performance.\n5. Lead payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit and collections with an emphasis on vendor and customer satisfaction.\n6. Manage day-to-day cash flow balances and be actively involved in long-term cash planning.\n7. Coordinate annual budget process.\n8. Review all general ledger accounts for completeness and accuracy and complete timely account reconciliations.\n9. Implement and maintain Cost Control Program within the department.\n10. Work with all taxing authorities and the accountants on any corporate and sales tax compliance.\n11. Be the system administrator for the web-based banking system with JP Morgan\n12. Work with the auditors on the annual review.\n13. Work with the Trustee and the valuation firm on the annual ESOP share valuation.\n14. Assist in the implementation of an upgraded accounting system.\n15. Manage accounting and credit staff.\n\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED\n\nKnowledge of GAAP\nFully proficient with personal computer, Excel, and Microsoft word.\nAbility to interact with personnel at all levels in the organization.\nAbility to work discreetly with confidential information.\nAbility to work with figures and detail with speed and accuracy.\nAbility to juggle multiple tasks and change priorities.\nOrganization and time management skills.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to interact professionally with people outside the business as required for the job.\nOTHER FUNCTIONS\n\nCross-train as required.\nOther duties as assigned.\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE NECESSARY\n\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent\nCPA a plus\n10+ years’ experience in accounting and finance\n8) WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL SKILLS NEEDED\n\nIndoor office environment\nAbility to sit/stand for 8 hours while typing on a computer keyboard.\nAbility to speak articulately for 8 hours.\nHand/eye coordination and visual acuity in near/mid ranges\nManual dexterity using both hands and fingers to type on a keyboard and dial phone, reaching with arms/hands.\nAbility to lift up to 25 pounds.\nMust be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.\n\nSalary: $100,000-$140,000 – depending upon experience\n\nBenefits include Employee Stock Ownership Plan, Health plan, Life insurance, Disability, 401k/Roth plans, Flexible Spending and High-Deductible Savings Plans, PTO and other entitlements.\n\nNote: This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities or qualifications for the job.\n\nWe offer excellent benefits- 3 weeks Paid Time Off your first year of employment, 11 paid holidays, plus Floating Holiday and Volunteer time!
