The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.\n\nPROGRAM OPERATION:\n\nPerform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.\nProvide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.\nMaintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.\nSubmits requested information within established timelines.\nSTUDENTS: Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions and/or provide assistance.\nDeal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.\nINSTRUCTION: Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).\nUse technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.\nIn event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair.\nParamedic Science Program Standard\nA qualified faculty member in paramedic science meets all five of the following criteria: Possesses an earned associate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution; and\nCompleted academic preparation appropriate to the program; and\nHolds an Indiana paramedic certification; and\nHolds an Indiana Department of Homeland Security Primary Instructor certification; and\nHas two years of directly related work experience.\nIvy Tech is committed to supporting the well-being, growth, and financial security of our part-time employees.
