Archaeologist Technician

Job DescriptionFlexicrew Technical Services is seeking multiple Archaeology Technicians in the Baton Rouge area for a 3-4 month project. This will require between 40-75% travel as it will start in the field and move to the office once fieldwork is completed.Essential Duties:Working under the supervision of staff, this person will provide assistance with project tasks at all levels including fieldwork (survey, testing, data recovery, and monitoring), archival research, technical report writing, data collection, and compilation.Requirements/Skills:Minimum B.A./B.S. in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related fieldPrevious field experience in CRM project environmentsPossess a working knowledge of standard excavation methods, demonstrates an attention to detail, and must be able to maintain accurate field recordsBe able to traverse overgrown areas and/or difficult terrain with up to 40 lbs. of equipmentBe able to work consistently in open spaces under variable weather conditionsAble to travel and work in the field for periods up to 10 days at a timeHave a valid driver's license with a clean record and a cell phoneAbility to us verbal and written communication to listen, communicate effectively, and work cooperatively with crew members and supervisory staffDue to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is requiredEqual Opportunity Statement: Flexicrew Technical Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with FTS is governed on the basis of merit, competence, and qualifications.
