Power Distribution Technician

NOTE: Shifts: 12-Hour Shift (Nights 545pm-6am or Days 545am-6pm,) following a schedule of 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, and 3 days off over a 2-week cycleDutiesSupport high- and medium-voltage switchgear, breakers, and electrical maintenance activitiesInstall, operate, maintain, modify, troubleshoot, repair, and evaluate electrical power distribution systems and associated controlsPerform medium-voltage isolation, switching, and manual grounding procedures on systems up to 6.9kVDiagnose and repair medium-voltage systems, underground cables, transformers, and related equipmentConduct preventive maintenance activities, including infrared fault detection surveysTroubleshoot automated control systems, including SCADA systems, instrumentation, protective relays, and electrical equipmentMaintain and update technical drawings, specifications, test records, and calibration logsReview equipment manuals and coordinate procurement of replacement or repair partsMonitor system gauges, meters, dials, and indicators to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficientlyProvide training, instruction, and technical support to team members as neededPerform additional duties and special projects as assigned by managementRequirements4+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial environmentStrong knowledge of electrical machines, tools, equipment design, repair, maintenance, and operationFamiliarity with NETA electrical testing standardsExperience conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify equipment failures and corrective actionsAbility to work in non-climate-controlled environments, including hot indoor conditions and outdoor cold-weather exposureCapable of frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds without assistanceComfortable working at heights of 10 feet or more, operating lifting equipment, and entering confined spacesHigh school diploma or GED required
