This role focuses on C++ (primary), with additional work in C#, Python, and scripting for tools and automation. Engineers typically perform both development and integration/test activities, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver robust, secure, and user-focused ground applications and services.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nSoftware Development & Implementation:\nDesign, develop, and maintain ground software applications and services primarily in C++, with additional work in C# and Python/scripting as needed.\nImplement features for mission operations, visualization, data processing, and system control in alignment with program requirements.\nWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented code backed by coding standards and peer reviews.\nIntegration, Testing & Optimization:\nDevelop and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests; participate directly in integration and test events (highly valued).\nUse GitLab, Jira, and related tools to manage source code, track defects, and validate changes.\nTroubleshoot and resolve integration issues across software components, services, and external interfaces.\nAssist in optimizing application performance, scalability, and reliability in operational environments.\nTroubleshooting & Support:\nDiagnose and resolve software issues reported from test labs or operational environments.\nAnalyze logs, traces, and metrics to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.\nDocument issues and resolutions, and contribute to continuous improvement of test and support processes.\nProject Management & Collaboration:\nCollaborate with systems, test, cybersecurity, and operations teams to refine requirements and design solutions.\nParticipate in agile development processes (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and provide accurate task estimates and updates.\nContribute to user-focused design and usability improvements where applicable.\nDocumentation, Compliance & Security:\nCreate and maintain technical documentation including design artifacts, API/interface descriptions, and test procedures.\nEnsure compliance with software development standards, DoD cybersecurity requirements, and internal quality processes.\nSupport audits, reviews, and technical interchange meetings as needed.\n\nQualifications:\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; or a combination of education and relevant experience.\nExperience:\nEntry-level to mid-career roles available (approximately 1–8+ years of software engineering experience).\nIntegration and test experience is particularly valuable and strongly preferred.\nClearance: Secret Required\nRequired Skills:\nProficiency in C++ for application or service development.\nExperience with at least one additional language: C# and/or Python (scripting for tools, automation, or data processing).\nExperience with Git-based version control and GitLab or similar platforms.\nFamiliarity with agile development practices and issue tracking using tools such as Jira.\nStrong problem-solving and debugging skills, especially in integration/test environments.\nEffective communication and teamwork abilities in cross-functional, technical environments.\nAbility to work full-time in either an on-site secure facility or approved remote environment, as defined by the role.\nPreferred Skills:\nExperience with:\nIntegration and system-level testing, including automated test frameworks.\nConfluence or similar tools for documentation and collaboration.\nCI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI) and DevOps-oriented workflows.\nKnowledge of:\nDistributed systems, messaging, and networking used in ground mission systems.\nDatabase technologies (SQL or NoSQL) and data-driven applications.\nDoD or aerospace/defense software programs and associated standards.\nRelevant certifications (e.g., Security+, cloud, or language/tool-specific certifications) are a plus.\n\nWork Environment:\nAbility to work at a desk and operate a computer for extended periods.\nRoles may be:\nOn-site in secure facilities, or\nFully remote for eligible Ground Software positions (subject to program and clearance constraints).\n\nWork Schedule:\nFull-time, typically 40 hours per week; overtime may be required to support key integration events, test periods, or delivery milestones.\n\nInfinity Benefits:\nGreat Company Culture.
