Solar Vice President

Are you a proven solar leader ready to take full ownership of a growing business unit? Scalo Solar Solutions is seeking an experienced Vice President & General Manager to lead and scale our commercial solar operations while driving revenue, operational excellence, and team performance.This is a high‑impact, executive‑level role where you’ll shape strategy, oversee end‑to‑end solar project execution, and work directly with company leadership to grow the solar division within the Scalo Companies.About Us:Scalo Solar Solutions is the leading Solar Developer & EPCD Contractor focused on the development of solar power on projects in the Pittsburgh and Ohio regions. Since 2010, we’ve been helping residential, commercial, and industrial properties gain their energy independence using our expertise in PV design, construction, yield analysis, tax models, and financial engineering.About the Role:As Vice President & General Manager, you will:Lead the sales, estimating, and operations teams for Scalo SolarProvide executive oversight on commercial solar projects from inception to closeoutDrive process improvement, profitability, and growthAct as a key member of the Executive Management TeamReport directly to the COO and collaborate closely with the CEO.What You’ll Do:Provide strong, steady leadership with a collaborative and solutions‑driven mindsetBuild a high‑performing solar team through coaching, mentorship, and performance managementFoster a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvementLead Sales and Operations to ensure a seamless hand‑off from proposal to project executionReview and approve all bids and estimates using deep technical and financial expertisePartner with estimating and project management teams to ensure project successOversee solar system design, engineering reviews, shop drawings, and permittingManage solar contract administrationEnsure compliance with electrical codes, engineering standards, and safety regulationsAnalyze and streamline internal processes to improve efficiency and profitabilityPrepare for upcoming projects by identifying risks and proactively solving challengesStay current on solar technology, incentives, tax credits, and industry trendsWhat We’re Looking ForRequired Qualifications:Experience with financial management and strategic planningExperience working with electrical installation and wiringStrong understanding of electrical codes and solar industry practicesExperience in solar system production analysis and financial modelingProficiency in reading architectural and electrical drawingsExperience with:Solar production analysisFinancial modelingPV system design (string sizing, wire sizing, inverter sizing, AC/DC ratios)Data communication and system commissioningStrong communication skills with clients, executives, and field teamsAbility to climb ladders, lift equipment, and perform physical tasks as requiredPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related fieldNABCEP PV Installation CertificationExperience with solar incentives and tax subsidy modelingFamiliarity with Sage Timberline estimating and project management softwareSalary: $130,000 - $140,000 per yearBenefits:Profit Improvement IncentiveParticipation in a Long-Term Incentive program15 Days of Paid Time Off and 7 paid Company holidaysHealth, Dental, and Vision InsuranceCompany-paid life insurance401(k) with company matchShort and Long-Term Disability Insurance optionsHealth Savings Account with company contributionEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Equal Opportunity Statement: The Scalo Companies is an EEO (Veterans, Disabled, Women/Minorities) and Military Friendly Employer.
