Senior Network Engineer

Auria is looking to hire a Senior Network Engineer to join our team! This role is onsite and located in Colorado Springs, CO. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:Network Engineering & Operations:Own daily operation, support, optimization, and lifecycle management of enterprise network infrastructureMaintain highly available and resilient connectivity across three primary offices and two satellite locations, Hybrid multi-cloud environments and Remote workforce connectivity solutionsSupport and improve a two-tier enterprise network architecture using enterprise-class switching, routing, and firewall technologiesLead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex network performance and reliability issuesSupport a target network availability objective of 99.9% uptimeSecurity Architecture & Compliance:Design and enhance segmented network architectures supporting:CMMC-aligned environmentsLogical separation of in-scope and out-of-scope systemsSecurity enclaves and restricted-access environmentsImplement and maintain secure network boundary protections using Palo Alto firewallsModernize firewall rule sets and reduce organizational risk exposure through improved policy management and segmentationPartner closely with cybersecurity teams to support:Secure architecture reviewsVulnerability remediationIncident response activitiesCompliance readiness effortsContribute to the organization's transition toward Zero Trust architecture principles Cloud & Remote ConnectivitySupport hybrid cloud networking architectures across multiple cloud providersMaintain and optimize connectivity technologies including:AWS Transit GatewayDirect Connect solutionsSite-to-site VPN connectivityImprove performance and reliability for remote engineering and development teams Modernization & AutomationIdentify opportunities to improve network scalability, resilience, and operational maturityAssist in expanding network automation and infrastructure-as-code capabilitiesCollaborate with Platform Operations and Infrastructure teams to standardize and modernize network deployments Leadership & CollaborationServe as the senior network engineering resource within the IT organizationCollaborate across:Infrastructure & SecurityCybersecurityPlatform OperationsHelp Desk / Service DeliveryHelp define operational standards, documentation, and engineering best practicesParticipate in planning for team growth, including mentoring and eventual support of a future Junior Network Engineer role WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:Mission-Driven Professional: Collaborative contributor motivated by the opportunity to develop cutting-edge solutions that protect and serve both the nation and the world.7+ years of progressive enterprise network engineering experienceDemonstrated hands-on experience with:Palo Alto Networks firewallsEnterprise Cisco switching and routingStrong understanding of:Network segmentationSecure enclave designEnterprise VPN technologiesHigh-availability network designExperience supporting hybrid cloud networking architecturesFamiliarity with:AWS networking conceptsAWS Transit GatewayDirect Connect and hybrid connectivity modelsWorking familiarity with:CMMCNIST SP 800-171 conceptsSecurity-focused network architecture principlesExperience supporting regulated or security-conscious environments • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS: Industry certifications such as:PCNSECCNP or CCIE o CISSPExperience with:Zero Trust networking initiatives o Network automation tools and scriptingInfrastructure-as-code conceptsMulti-enclave environmentsPrior experience in aerospace, defense, government contracting, or similarly regulated industries PAY TRANSPARENCY: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level. $115,000 - $135,000.
