OverviewJPW Structural Contracting located in Syracuse, NY is currently seeking Structural Welders to join their team! Positions are Monday - Friday, 5:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. or 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with optional Saturdays, when applicable, 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.Structural Welders play a key role in the success of our company. They must be sure to follow company policies, operations and work in harmony with co-workers to ensure the Company’s success. They perform the day-to-day activities required of them in the shop with the goal of meeting the production schedule set forth by the Shop Foreman, all while maintaining a safe working environment and staying within quality standards.ResponsibilitiesWeld and fabricate structural steelFollow blueprints to meet product specificationsCalculate material measurements to verify specificationsReceives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job. Plans details of working procedure, tools and material requirements. Fabricates by cutting, burning, and welding various metals. Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded. Sets up, assembles, and tacks weld parts.Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderlyQualifications3+ years experience in weldingFamiliarity with welding tools and proceduresBasic knowledge and understanding of layoutFamiliarity with reading and understanding blueprintsAbility to handle physical workloadStarting Wage will DOE
