(Associate) Director of Advancement
The Pat Summitt Foundation (the Foundation/PSF) was founded by Pat and Tyler Summitt in November 2011. Its mission is to advance research for treatment and a cure, provide care and support for patients and caregivers, and educate the public about Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.Position Summary:The (Associate) Director of Advancement will join the team at a defining moment in the organization’s history, providing key leadership as we finalize a new strategic vision and prepare to launch this vision to our greater public. Reporting to and serving as a strategic partner to the Executive Director, this individual will ensure that operational and program needs are met by spearheading annual fundraising efforts and driving high-level donor engagement. They will provide the tactical leadership required for a future capital campaign, translating the organization's new strategic direction into a compelling case for support.Specific responsibilities and qualifications are indicated below. This is an in-office position and requires travel within Tennessee and across the United States.Responsibilities:Major Gifts & Relationship Management:Lead the identification, qualification, cultivation, and solicitation of major gift prospects and current donors.Cultivate and steward a diverse donor base, including individuals, corporations, and private foundations, to build long-term philanthropic investment.In collaboration with the Assistant Director of Strategic Initiatives, craft and launch engagement strategies tailored to legacy donors, new prospects, and strategic partners. Annual Giving and Fundraising Strategy:· Partner with the Executive Director to establish annual fundraising goals that align with the organization's strategic plan and budgetary requirements.Direct the annual giving program, providing leadership on initiatives like Pat Summitt’s Day of Giving and multi-channel appeals to ensure consistent operational funding.Oversee the securement of corporate sponsorships, in-kind donations, and event participation. Communications and Stewardship:· Oversee the development of high-impact donor collateral, including digital appeals, stewardship reports, and personalized solicitation packets.· With support from the Assistant Director of Strategic Initiatives, lead the execution of a comprehensive stewardship plan and donor-centric events designed to deepen constituent loyalty and retention.· Under the direction of the Executive Director, streamline fundraising workflows and implement data-driven engagement methods.Strategic Integration and Vision Alignment:· Partner with the Executive Director to orchestrate the external rollout of the organization's new strategic vision, ensuring fundraising messaging is seamlessly aligned with strategic goals and institutional identity.· Partner with leadership to ensure capital campaign objectives and annual fundraising targets are structurally linked to the key performance indicators (KPIs) of the strategic plan.Provide administrative support for PSF advancement activities.Maintain comprehensive donor records and documentation, ensuring the accuracy and security of the PSF donor database through timely entry of contact reports and gift documentation.· Prepare high-level quarterly advancement reports for the Board of Directors, providing clear visibility into campaign progress and donor trends.· Attend team meetings and quarterly PSF advisory board meetings.· Gain proficiency in the Foundation’s system-wide software platform, sharing responsibility for adding new profiles, maintaining current forms and lists, updating pertinent information, and performing general maintenance as it pertains to PSF advancement activities.· Provide responsive, professional service to donors, prospects, and professional advisors, acting as a key ambassador for the PSF advancement team and ensuring a seamless donor experience.· Attend weekly team meetings and quarterly PSF Advisory Board meetings, providing strategic updates on all advancement activities.Perform additional duties as needed to further the mission of PSF that might include assisting with event execution.Qualifications:The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of relevant experience. We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can work with high levels of independence while remaining a collaborative team player. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are essential with proven leadership in engaging diverse stakeholders.
