This role works directly with customers to evaluate application requirements, recommend appropriate products, prepare quotations, and support the successful delivery of customer-specific solutions. The position partners closely with sales, manufacturing, and internal stakeholders to ensure technical accuracy, strong customer support, and timely execution.\r\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\r\nWork directly with customers via phone, email, and virtual meetings to understand application requirements.\r\nEvaluate operating conditions including pressure, temperature, media compatibility, flow requirements, movement, vibration, environmental exposure, and regulatory requirements.\r\nRecommend appropriate hose assemblies, fittings, couplings, and related fluid transfer products.\r\nAssist customers in troubleshooting existing hose assembly issues and identifying replacement solutions.\r\nProvide technical guidance regarding installation, maintenance, and product selection.\r\nPrepare accurate and timely quotations.\r\nReview customer drawings, specifications, RFQs, and technical documentation.\r\nDevelop bills of material and pricing recommendations.\r\nFollow up on quotations to support order conversion and customer satisfaction.\r\nCoordinate with inside sales and manufacturing teams to ensure customer expectations are met.\r\nAssist in the selection and specification of PTFE, metal, composite, hydraulic, industrial, silicone, and aerospace hose assemblies.\r\nInterpret customer specifications and industry standards.\r\nSupport custom-engineered solutions for challenging applications.\r\nMaintain product knowledge across Flexline's portfolio of hose assemblies, fittings, valves, and fluid transfer components.\r\nParticipate in customer training and technical presentations as required.\r\nWork closely with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and sales teams.\r\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives related to quoting, customer responsiveness, and technical documentation.\r\nAssist with maintaining product data, application guides, and technical resources.\r\nQualifications\r\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.\r\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support customers and collaborate across internal teams.\r\nExperience reviewing technical drawings, specifications, RFQs, and related documentation.\r\nStrong attention to detail, organization, product knowledge and follow-through in a fast-paced environment.\r\nCommitment to delivering a high level of customer service and technical support.\r\nEducation and Experience\r\nPrior experience in application engineering, technical sales support, manufacturing, or a related customer-facing engineering environment is preferred.\r\nPhysical Requirements and Work Environment\r\nThis position primarily operates in an office and manufacturing support environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and other communication tools. The role may require sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of light materials up to 15 pounds.
