And nobody here is siloed on one narrow slice of a system nobody understands end to end.\n\nWhat you'll do\n\nDevelop custom software solutions, system integrations, and data extraction tools for insurance company clients\nBuild solutions that enable multiple systems to communicate and share data effectively\nWrite clean, maintainable, well-structured code using Java, SQL, TypeScript, JavaScript, and other technologies in our stack\nRead and interpret technical specifications and business requirements to determine scope, deliverables, and level of effort\nDesign and implement RESTful APIs, webhook integrations, and data exchange processes between systems\nTest and debug your work before release, and support defect resolution identified during QA\nParticipate in code reviews as both author and reviewer — giving constructive feedback, not just receiving it\nApply Git version control best practices and participate in CI/CD workflows\nDeploy, monitor, and support solutions on Azure and AWS\nDocument code, solutions, and technical processes clearly for the team\nCommunicate status, technical challenges, risks, and estimates to the Software Services Manager and project team\nCollaborate with testers, analysts, and client stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues\nProvide technical guidance to Software Developer Interns and less experienced teammates\nLearn additional languages and frameworks as project needs require\n\nWhat you need\n\nRequired\n\nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field — or equivalent demonstrated professional development experience\nWorking proficiency in one or more of: Java, SQL, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, Python\nSolid understanding of object-oriented programming principles, data structures, and algorithms\nExperience with relational databases and writing SQL queries\nExperience with Git in a collaborative development environment\nAbility to read and interpret technical specifications and business requirements\nAbility to work full-time, in-office in Covington, OH\n\nPreferred\n\nPrior professional software development experience, including internship experience\nExperience designing or consuming RESTful APIs and webhook integrations\nExperience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), CI/CD workflows, and modern deployment practices\nFamiliarity with additional languages and frameworks we use — VB.NET, Python, PHP, Angular, Node.js\nExperience with automated testing practices\nPrior insurance industry knowledge, or willingness to learn insurance terminology and workflows on the job\nPersonal coding projects, hackathon participation, or open-source contributions\n\nThe range is wide on purpose\n\n$50,000–$100,000 depending on experience is a real range, not a negotiating posture.
