This Network Engineer Level II will be working on innovative network design and operations. This position will support various customers within Health Solutions. The position is responsible for providing engineering expertise for complex multi-service networking. The network engineer is responsible for engineering and supporting the network design, deployment, and operations for a large government customer located in Baltimore, Maryland. This position may require from 25% to 50% travel to various domestic customer locations. Position requires regular on-site work at the customer location and warehouse.Deploy and maintain the enterprise wireless LAN network infrastructureAnalyze current wireless LAN network configurations and determine implementation requirementsConfigure routing protocols, complex switch networks, and routing configurationsPrepare network equipment for deployment by loading appropriate software and configuration settings according to pre engineered design templatesAssemble required equipment, cables, adapters, etc., and arrange delivery to the site for installationUpgrade the configuration of existing network equipment to support new features and functionsWork with field installation contractors while they are on-site and provide all technical details to complete wireless LAN site survey and AP or Controller installationsWork with field installation contractors while they are on-site and provide all technical details to complete router or switch installationsContinually review the customer's network and practices, looking for opportunities to enhance network functionality, performance, and reliabilityAssist in the evaluation of potential network products or technical solutionsTest LAN/WAN and WLAN equipment software (i.e., IOS, NXOS)Contribute to the development of network documentation, including diagrams, standards, specifications, and operating proceduresMonitor for opportunities to enhance the customer network/system performance or reliabilityMonitor for opportunities to improve the customer service delivery practicesPerform ongoing management of network installation and upgrade projects, and maintain deployment schedulesProvide guidance to team members and provide status metrics to the Government customer and Peraton managementProvide third-level support and troubleshooting of network problems.
