School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Mountain Top, Pennsylvania

This contract position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide school nursing services in the Mountain Top, PA area. The role focuses on supporting two students: an elementary student who uses a wheelchair and a high school student recovering from a stroke. The nurse will play a key role in managing healthcare needs within the school setting to ensure a safe and supportive environment for these students.Responsibilities:Provide direct nursing care to students with complex medical needs, including tracheostomies, G-tubes, and diabetes management.Monitor and assess student health status; respond to emergencies or changes in condition.Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans.Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with school and legal guidelines.Offer health education to students and staff as needed.Qualifications:Current Pennsylvania State or Compact Nursing License required.Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.Experience working with pediatric populations is advantageous.Proficiency in managing tracheostomies, feeding tubes, and diabetes preferred.Location:Mountain Top, PA (serving students in the Hazelton school district).Benefits and Compensation:Health benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage.401(k) retirement plan option through Principal Financial.Hourly pay range from $38 to $42.This opportunity allows a skilled school nurse to make a significant impact on the health and wellbeing of students with specialized medical needs.
