Maintenance Technician I
Wyndemere is recruiting for a hospitality focused Maintenance Technician I to join our team in Wheaton, IL!
The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for general plant operations issues, as well as some preventive maintenance duties. Also responsible for completing assigned tasks in a timely manner and with quality workmanship. This position assists in creating a best in class environment for our residents and staff using past experiences, creativity, and independent judgment.
Shift: First Shift, Monday - Friday (No On-Call)
Compensation: $18-21 per hour
Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician:
Performs general maintenance duties, such as; fixing wall covers, and some furniture and fixtures; minor plumbing and electronic repairs.
Performs assigned preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems, equipment, and appliances; as well as painting and refurbishing projects.
Completes Preventative Maintenance work requests and assignments on time.
Responds to emergency situations. Assesses and takes action to stabilize the situation, make area safe, and avoid further damage.
Operates low speed vehicles and pick up trucks as needed (must have valid drivers license)
Demonstrates proper judgment and decision making skills when completing assigned tasks and accomplishes all work in the order of priority.
Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:
1 year experience in maintenance or construction in a commercial/industrial setting. Experience in a health care environment preferred.
Experience in the areas of plumbing, painting, plastering required.
Basic shop math (fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions) and computer knowledge (web based subject searching) required.
Ability to read and interpret manuals, diagrams, written instructions, schedules required
Current Driver’s License and good driving record.
Comprehensive understanding of the English Language; must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
