Our vision is a community where all people are shown compassion, treated with dignity, and everyone has a safe, stable, and affordable place to call home.\nDESC operates five shelter/emergency housing programs,19 permanent supportive housing facilities with over 1,750 units, several hundred additional scattered site apartments, and a range of behavioral health services including outpatient mental health and substance use disorder treatment, residential crisis stabilization, street outreach, mobile crisis response, and treatment for opioid use disorder.\n\nJOB DEFINITION:\nThe Housing Development Program Coordinator assists the Director of Facilities and Asset Management with real estate development, from site acquisition to place in service, for properties to be owned and/or leased by DESC. DESC often has multiple projects under development at the same time. Considerable attention and skill is needed in the area of data systems and work flow tracking and intra- and inter-program communications.\nMAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nCoordinate internal activities related to real estate development.\nCoordinate preparation of funding capital applications.\nFacilitate and coordinate communication to and from professional consultants to provide services in connection with the design, planning, costing, construction and close out.\nAssist with construction project accounting, monthly funding requests and reports to lenders and tax credit investors, including data entry and filing as appropriate.\nTrack project schedule and deliverables in coordination with DESC Management.\nProvide reporting to supervisor so that performance of project team adheres to DESC's needs and expectations.\nFrame relevant program-driven design questions and liaison with internal program staff.\nLead transition to project start-up and operation including transmission of reporting requirements and asset management constraints to other parts of the agency.\nMaintain an organized system of tracking and monitoring work flow and prioritization of tasks for Housing Development.\nProvide administrative and operational coordination for housing development initiatives and special projects.\nLiaise between Housing and other agency departments to coordinate and track shared work.\nProvide process maps or other evaluation tools for various program areas to identify and implement improvements.\nAssist with tracking and assuring completion of facility maintenance and repairs as needed while projects are in warranty period.\nOther duties as assigned.\nRequirements:\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:\nCommitment to DESC's mission and goals.\nExperience providing administrative support and familiarity with program management systems and procedures.\nAbility to exercise independent judgment and problem-solve.\nDemonstrated ability to organize and coordinate work efficiently; prioritize workload, work under pressure with tight timelines and changing priorities.\nHigh level written and verbal communication skills.\nHigh level of discretion and confidentiality.\nBe able to pass a Washington State Criminal background check.\nStrong computer skills, including spreadsheets, databases and word processing or related experience with the indicated potential to learn new programs and skills quickly.\nAbility to work independently with a minimum of direct supervision with multiple demands and interruptions.\nAbility to work with external and internal stake holders from a wide variety of professional roles to accomplish responsibilities and achieve results.\nInitiative and creativity in problem solving and system development.\nCareful attention to detail.\nSubscribe to the philosophy of cooperation and continuity across programs and of consideration and respect for clients.\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:\nEither a bachelor’s degree OR equivalent training and experience such as:\nAssociates degree and a year of relevant work experience;\nProfessional certification in project management or similar topic and a year of relevant work experience;\nTwo or more years of relevant work experience, preferably in property, housing or architectural work environments.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor's degree, or equivalent experience or training.\n2 years administrative and/or office experience.\nExperience working in administration/coordination in a human services, housing or health care setting.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
