{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"5e451663fbaf1fb227359b70","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/5e451663fbaf1fb227359b70","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/5e451663fbaf1fb227359b70","title":"Lead EI&C Technician - Channelview, TX","description":"Lead EI&C Technician and Channelview, TX Position Summary Odyssey Energy’s Altura Cogen facility in Channelview, Texas is a natural gas–fired cogeneration plant seeking a skilled EI&C technician to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical controls and instrumentation systems.\nMajor Duties & Responsibilities Workflow Management\nKnowledge of low/medium/high voltage equipment rated 480 volts through 138,000 volts in an industrial environment.\nExperience working with industrial electrical equipment such as voltage regulators, low/medium voltage motor control centers, circuit breakers, switchgears, electrical power generators, potential transformers, step-up/step-down transformers, transformer/generator/motor circuit protection relays, etc.\nFamiliarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) and application in industrial environments.\nMaintain and control spare electrical parts inventory.\nDemonstrate accountability for budget planning and control.\nFamiliarity with inspecting transmitter instrumentation periodically and making minor calibration adjustments to ensure they function within specified control variables.\nAbility to diagnose malfunctions and perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on power plant electrical, instruments, and control systems.\nExperience with reading and interpreting electrical one line diagrams, elementary control drawings, three-line diagrams, loop drawings, P&ID’s, etc.\nDocument control and wiring changes and redlines plant drawings as needed. Must comply with Altura Cogen’s Management of Change program.\nDevelop and prepare detailed job scopes and comprehensive bidding documentation for project proposals.\nOperates plant equipment as required (trucks, cranes, forklifts, scissors and aerial lifts).\nUnderstands and complies with all company environmental, health and safety policies.\nAnalyze trends and operating parameters of electronic and electrical systems to identify potential or impending failures and to ensure the plant’s running at optimal efficiency.\nMaintain a safe working environment to include good housekeeping practices in work areas and workshop areas.\nUtilize the workflow management system, MAXIMO, to track maintenance activities, inventory tracking and equipment history.\nConducts electrical, IC&E, electronic and electrical systems inspections and tests as required to ensure plant is operating within specified parameters.\nWorking Conditions:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job\nWorking in varied outdoor environments such as all-weather conditions, all noise levels, hazardous conditions, and on a full range of outdoor work surfaces sometimes at elevated heights.\nVarious uses of protective equipment (i.e. hard hats, safety glasses, air purifying respirator, hearing protection, chemical suits, hot gloves and high voltage protective equipment, etc.) is required. Work with hazardous materials may also be required.\nWorking in proximity to high voltage and current with proper training and equipment, operating heavy equipment and rolling stock and entering confined spaces or hazardous environments may be required while often being exposed to equipment and machinery noises.\nDuties require walking, standing for extended periods of time, crawling, stooping, sitting, climbing vertical and inclined ladders and stairs, operation of large valves and other tasks requiring up to 100 lbs. of pulling or turning force, and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Exposure to extreme heat and cold.\nAll candidates will participate in the post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.\nThis position requires extended working hours and varied shifts including weekend and holiday work.
