Determine relevance to operations and campus community.\n\nGenerate intelligence/informational bulletins for active cases or perceived threats to area of operations and campus community.\n\nActively and independently conduct open‑source investigations on persons of interest and trending topics that may impact the campus.\n\nOperate all systems of the Real Time Information System during operational periods related to planned or impromptu events.\n\nSupport PD response to major events, VIP visits, and disruptions to campus activity.\n\nUse available camera systems, site surveys, and reconnaissance techniques to identify, monitor, and predict areas vulnerable to criminal offenses.\n\nReceive, process, and analyze all field intelligence cards submitted.\n\nMaintain professional relationships with outside agency partners to foster expedient sharing of information.\n\nEvaluate and assess gathered information to develop meaningful intelligence assessments free of bias and develop intelligence briefings when assigned.\n\nManage threat mitigation calendar of events and trending topics board.\n\nCollect, analyze, and summarize data to project crime trends for detectives and patrol officers.\n\nConduct open‑source intelligence gathering related to active cases, including locating property and identifying suspects, and assist investigators with review of related videos.\n\nReview active investigations, identify commonalities, trends, and investigative leads that may be found in previous related investigations.\n\nAnalyze data to predict appropriate times and locations for targeted enforcement of trending crimes.\n\nCreate photo line‑ups for active cases.\n\nProduce major case briefings or summaries that are professional in appearance.\n\nMaintain a positive working relationship with the Dean of Students while facilitating the flow of information between departments.\n\nStay abreast of crime trends with partner agencies and share those trends internally with UTPD.\n\nConnect outside agency detectives and investigators with internal counterparts.\n\nOther related functions as assigned.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nBachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business, Public Administration, social science, or related field.\n\nFive years of experience in research, analysis, and interpretation of law enforcement data or related field. A master’s degree may substitute up to two years of experience.\n\nExperience in data analysis, research methods, theory, and statistics, preferably in a law enforcement capacity.\n\nMust pass a comprehensive background investigation, including criminal history check, credit check, and drug test.\n\nMust be able to obtain federal security clearances.\n\nMust possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.\n\nAbility to interpret and explain complex statistical data to a variety of constituencies.\n\nAbility to produce reports on demand and in a timely manner.\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\n\nAbility to take initiative, work independently, and maintain a professional demeanor.\n\nAbility to work non‑standard hours as required by the department.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nComprehensive knowledge of crime and intelligence analysis principles, concepts, methods, and techniques.\n\nHands‑on experience with crime analysis software (GIS, mapping software, DBF, CSV, Excel tables).
