This role is focused on installing, configuring, patching, upgrading, deploying, and operating Yugabyte and Postgres-compatible database systems at enterprise scale. The engineer will evaluate new and upgraded offerings, document best practices, and support hosting, DBA, and operational teams.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, patch, upgrade, and deploy Yugabyte and PostgreSQL-compatible databasesEvaluate new Yugabyte and Postgres-compatible database offerings for enterprise useDesign and manage intra- and inter-data-center high availability configurations, replication, and failoverHandle cluster management, automated provisioning, and rolling upgradesImplement backup & restoration, security mechanisms, health monitoring, and alertingDocument, present, and explain techniques, patterns, and best practices to engineering teamsApply knowledge of DBMS concepts including ACID, CAP, and consistency modelsTune performance using knowledge of Yugabyte internals such as sharding and replication settingsRequired SkillsPostgreSQL DBA with enterprise-scale deployment experienceGCP or any cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure)Python or similar programming/scripting languageData ingestion and processing skillsStrong understanding of ACID, CAP theorem, and distributed database conceptsHigh availability, fault tolerance, and replication experiencePreferred SkillsYugabyte database experience (training available for strong Postgres/Spanner/Cassandra/Oracle candidates)Knowledge of Google Spanner, Cassandra, or OracleUnix command line proficiencyExperience with VMware, OpenShift, Kubernetes, DockerKnowledge of hyper-converged and modern storage/compute infrastructuresExperience as a Unix system administratorLocation & Work ModelOnsite - Phoenix, AZ.
