& Utilities Engineer","description":"Sabinsa Corporation is seeking a hands-on Facilities Engineer to support and optimize critical facility infrastructure at our Payson, Utah manufacturing site.\nThis role is responsible for the performance, reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement of facility systems including HVAC, boilers, compressed air, purified water, building infrastructure, and other critical utilities that support cGMP manufacturing operations.\nThe ideal candidate is a practical engineer with strong troubleshooting ability, experience managing plant utilities, and a proactive mindset toward reliability, safety, and operational excellence.\n________________________________________\nKey Responsibilities\nFacility Utilities & Infrastructure\nProvide engineering ownership and technical support for facility utility systems, including:\no HVAC and environmental control systems\no Boilers and steam systems\no Compressed air systems\no Purified water / water treatment systems\no Building mechanical infrastructure\no Process support utilities\no Backup power / emergency systems (if applicable)\nMonitor system performance and reliability to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.\nTroubleshoot equipment failures, utility interruptions, and infrastructure issues with urgency and sound engineering judgment.\nCoordinate repairs, upgrades, and preventive actions to minimize downtime.\n________________________________________\nReliability & Continuous Improvement\nDevelop and drive facility reliability initiatives for critical plant infrastructure.\nConduct root cause investigations for recurring failures and utility disruptions.\nRecommend and implement corrective and preventive actions.\nImprove preventive and predictive maintenance strategies with maintenance teams.\nIdentify energy efficiency, capacity, and cost optimization opportunities.\n________________________________________\nCompliance & cGMP Support\nEnsure facility systems operate in compliance with applicable:\no cGMP requirements\no FDA expectations\no OSHA safety requirements\no environmental regulations\no internal quality standards\nSupport audits, inspections, and regulatory readiness activities.\nAssist with change control, deviation investigations, CAPA activities, and facility documentation.\nHelp maintain engineering standards for critical utility systems.\n________________________________________\nProjects & Capital Improvements\nSupport facility expansion, infrastructure upgrades, and capital improvement projects.\nWork with contractors, vendors, consultants, and service providers on installation and commissioning activities.\nReview engineering proposals, drawings, specifications, and contractor work.\nSupport commissioning, qualification, and startup of new facility systems where required.\n________________________________________\nCross-Functional Support\nPartner with:\no Maintenance\no Quality\no Manufacturing\no EHS\no Validation\no Leadership teams\nAssist in SOP development, operational procedures, and technical training as needed.\n________________________________________\nQualifications\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.\n5+ years of facilities engineering or plant utilities engineering experience\nStrong experience with one or more:\no HVAC\no boilers / steam systems\no compressed air\no water purification / water treatment\no industrial utilities\no building mechanical systems\nExperience troubleshooting mechanical and facility infrastructure systems.\nExperience working in regulated manufacturing, industrial manufacturing, food, pharma, nutraceutical, chemical, or related environments.\nStrong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\n________________________________________\nPreferred\nExperience in cGMP manufacturing.\nFamiliarity with BMS, automation, controls, or facility monitoring systems.\nKnowledge of OSHA, FDA, and facility compliance expectations.\nExperience with contractor/vendor management.\nFamiliarity with preventive maintenance / CMMS systems.\nExperience supporting
