Advance your education and career with our tuition assistance program.\n\nPosition Summary\nAs directed and assigned by the Installation Manager, Ipsen's Installation Supervisor is responsible for performing hands‑on technical work as well as overseeing and directing onsite installations of Ipsen furnaces including that of people management. This includes learning and understanding the requirements for installing Ipsen vacuum furnaces, working onsite to either complete the installation of the furnace independently, with a team of Ipsen field service personnel, or with contractors engaged by Ipsen for the project, supervising Ipsen resources on‑site, resolving customer needs, and ensuring efficient and timely execution of projects.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n\nDirect contractors or other Ipsen field service personnel for rigging, millwright, piping, and electrical installation tasks.\n\nMonitor work for accuracy and quality, identifying issues such as loose or missing fittings and poor wire connections, and verify equipment is plumb, level, and square. Ensure repairs or corrections are made as necessary.\n\nOversee site safety requirements for Ipsen employees, contractors, vendors, and customer employees, with a goal of zero accidents and zero lost time.\n\nReview installation requirements and understand Ipsen's contractual responsibilities.\n\nMaintain the installation budget, by using available tools to control costs, lost time, and overtime.\n\nMaintain required management reporting including installation schedule, job performance and projections.\n\nCarefully review any contractor change order requests, determine validity.\n\nMaintain and control track the installation schedule to maximize site performance.\n\nResolve challenging situations or conflict in calm professional manner.\n\nLead the on‑site team day to day — assigning where people work, setting work priorities, and determining what must be completed before close of day. Refer unresolved disputes to the Installation Manager.\n\nParticipate in installation proposal creation, design drawing, engineering, and equipment specifications.\n\nAttend and participate in project kick‑off meetings for customers and contractors as required.\n\nCommunicate with the customer daily providing updates on work activities, goal progress, and near term objectives.\n\nIdentify and develop vendors as needed to quickly acquire missing parts, pipe fittings, bolts, or wiring components to ensure continued progress of the work.\n\nGathers and disseminates competitive intelligence to the Ipsen team.\n\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nRequirements\nKnowledge, Skills, Abilities\n\nStrong mechanical and electrical ability\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\n\nProven ability to build and lead effective and diverse teams.\n\nPossess strong, planning, organizational and leadership skills.\n\nProficient with MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook.\n\nAbility to read and interpret project drawings, schematics, and CAD‑generated documents\n\nKnowledge of rigging, millwright, pipefitting, and electrical trades, closed‑loop cooling systems, welding, etc. to execute large scale installations.\n\nSafety Management skills.\n\nAbility to coordinate with contractors, customers, and vendors to effectively execute installations.\n\nAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.\n\nAbility to read and interpret project drawings and schematics.\n\nAbility to travel up to 50% of the time. Travel will primarily be domestic; however, some international travel may be required.\n\nEducation and Experience\n\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent required, associate degree or additional certification in Engineering, or related technical field, preferred.\n\nMinimum four (4) years of experience in a service/contractor organization with a proven track record of successfully executing large and complex installations of capital equipment.\n\nPrior supervisory or management experience preferred.\n\nPhysical /Mental/ Work Environment Demands\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
