The System’s Engineer leverages industry expertise to provide GTS’ sales team with comprehensive datacenter solutions to present to customers.\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nNone.\nDuties/Responsibilities:\nLeverage industry best practices to design datacenter offerings, including networking, server, storage, and software solutions.\nProvide pre-sales presentations, technical best practices, and solution demonstrations in a customer facing environment.\nActively manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process to drive opportunities to close.\nUnderstand GTS’s contracts and pricing structure by product/service type and manufacturer.\nBuild close relationships with GTS’ manufacturer and channel partners.\nResearch, identify, and recommend new hardware, software, and applications to support future and/or complex management information systems (MIS) needs.\nMaintain knowledge on developments, trends, and best practices in technology and business networks.\nMaintain relevant industry and manufacturer-specific certifications.\nDocument and monitor requirements needed to institute proposed customer initiatives.\nWork closely with Information Technology professionals within the company to ensure hardware is available for projects and is implemented as designed.\nAccount for possible project challenges and constraints including, risks, lead times, project resources and scope.\nWork closely with project management teams to successfully monitor progress of customer initiatives.\nProvide detailed specifications for proposed solutions.\nPerforms other related duties as assigned.\nRequired Skills/Abilities:\nExtensive knowledge of datacenter software and hardware design architecture.\nProfessional experience working with and analyzing computer hardware and software.\nExtensive knowledge and experience working with operating systems.\nCurrent understanding of best practices regarding system security measures.\nPositive outlook in meeting challenges and working to a high level.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nExcellent interpersonal skills with ability to explain technical issues to technical and nontechnical staff.\nAbility to earn and maintain positive relationships both internally and externally.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nSuperior understanding of computer and networking hardware and software systems.\nExcellent time management skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.\nProficiency with a broad array of networking and systems hardware and software.\nEducation and Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.\nFive or more years of experience in datacenter systems design and architecture.\nIndustry certifications, such as:\nDell Technical Architect certification (or equivalent).\nPalo Alto PSE and PCNSE / PCNSC certification (or equivalent)\nCisco CCNA or CCNP (or equivalent)\nVMWare VCP certification (or equivalent)\nPhysical Requirements:\nProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.\nMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.\nMay be required to be on-call.\nMay be required to travel.\nGTS Technology Solutions, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
