The Food Service Department Director and Food Service Managers will provide support in training recommendations and ensure compliance with company food service policies and procedures regarding food products and recipes, food store inspection, and general food safety compliance.\n\nPosition Description - Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities\nManage daily activities of employees to improve sales performance.\nSupervise employees in various duties such as cooking, serving, packaging, and operating counters.\nManage product storage, maintenance, and rotation activities to avoid any damages or spoilages.\nAssists the Manager in the preparation and completion of food product inventory and sales budgets to meet department goals.\nSchedules and assigns job duties for associates.\nAssist in interviewing, hiring, and training associates.\nProvide training to staff on company policies and sales guidelines.\nRespond to queries and complaints from customers.\nEnsure employees follow company policies and store rules.\nEnsure that products are properly labeled with prices and dates.\nMonitor and maintain stock inventory levels to avoid over and under-stock problems.\nOperate and maintain all food preparation machines and equipment.\nReceive, unload, and stock food items.\nAdheres to state-specific sanitary inspection guidelines regarding sanitary facilities and controls, food storage and protection, equipment utensils, hygiene, and food handler activities.\nWears and enforces any required dress code to include, including hats, hair nets, closed toes shoes, gloves, etc.\nPerforms other duties assigned by the Manager, Assistant Manager, Food Service Manager, Director of Food Service, or District Manager.\n\nReasonable accommodations may be requested to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.\n\nQualifications\nRequires a new hire candidate to present a valid certification from a nationally recognized food manager certified program OR become certified within 30 days of employment. Current employees must be food certified prior to promotion into the Deli Manager classification.\nNational exam programs are those approved by ANSI (American Standards Institute) using the Conference of Food Protection certified food protection manager standards.\n\nCompetencies/Skills\nAbility to multi-task\nOrganizational and communication skills\nMechanical skills\n\nWork Environment\nWhile performing the duties of this job, works in a typical retail convenience store setting.\n\nPhysical Demands\nIncumbent must be able to lift up to fifty pounds\nBending and twisting\nStanding, walking, or sitting for prolonged periods\n\nPrograms/Equipment Used\nVarious types of food preparation equipment\nCoffee, cappuccino, beverage dispensers, and creamer machines\nRefrigeration cases, freezers, and condensers\n\nRequired Education and Experience\nHigh School Diploma or greater\n1-2 years of experience in a food service position\nCertification in Sure Food Manager Workshop through RTO, or approved equivalent.
