The Supervisor manages the hourly maintenance personnel in a safe, effective and efficient manner in compliance with the company policies, procedures and all legislative requirements. The Supervisor assists the Manager to ensure that production rates, schedules, quality, quantity and safety requirements are met.\n\nCore Competencies\n\nTime Management\nPlanning and housekeeping and safety provisions are adhered to.\nAttends and provides input in daily production meetings if any.\nResearches materials to continuously improve production.\nFocuses on error proofing, ergonomic techniques and cost reductions.\nContacts outside contractors depending on need, if job cannot be done by internal maintenance manpower.\nChampions all new equipment for new programs in conjunction with preventative maintenance;\nMust be prepared to be on call 24 hours/day and weekends.\nPrepares overtime equalization sheets, canvasses for overtime, prepares time sheets for payroll, approves vacations and leaves of absence and oversees schedule rotation for both plants.\nAdheres to general and real-time supervisory expectations and guidelines as established by the company.\nRead and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.\nCoordinate regular preventive maintenance on daily equipment and facility such as replacing light bulbs.\nBe knowledgeable in the use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.\nDetect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.\nComply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.\nInvolved in all aspects of building maintenance requirements for all new construction, renovations or updates to current systems.\nCoordinate and monitor contractor activities for projects.\nWork with site-wide building maintenance to ensure compliance to any construction, renovation or updates.\nUpdate project information and maintain project files\nOrganize drawings and prepare drawing packages to support project activity\nSupport department management, project managers and consultants as required\nUpdate and maintains information in (Company Name) records systems and department databases\nSet priorities for preventative maintenance work orders, maintenance requisitions and scheduled work.\nMaintain adequate supplies and equipment for the maintenance department.\nRequisition work to be completed through Purchasing.\nAttend meetings as required.\nMeet with Fire Department, Hydro, etc. as required.\nComplete all necessary reports and records related to the department as required.\nDrive Flex-N-Gate, Ventra vehicles, as required.\nCoordinate the painting and decorating of the interior and exterior surfaces as required.\nAdhere to departmental procedures and systems, e.g., \"systems for preventative maintenance\", \"maintenance requisitions\", scheduled work and continued quality improvement/risk management programs.\nOrganize minor construction work, e.g., dismantling and erecting walls, finish carpentry work, pouring concrete, etc.\nMaintain inventory of new equipment, manuals and warranties.\nOperate computerized preventative maintenance program.\nTroubleshoot and maintain various electrical components, appliances and equipment in accordance with pertinent codes, the preventative maintenance program and departmental procedures.\nSchedule preventative maintenance checks of all electrical alarms\nResponsible for the install, and repair plumbing fixtures, piping, and related equipment.\nOrganize mechanical and preventative maintenance work on equipment as per preventative maintenance manual, e.g., circulating pumps, air handling systems, and refrigeration etc.\nInitiate safety concerns and makes judgment on the best methods of completing tasks.\nResponsible for snow removal and ice safety.\nResponsible for landscaping and the overall esthetic look of Flex-N-Gate, Ventra property.\nAccountable for short-term planning and keeping appropriate authorities aware of decisions being made.\nPerform all other duties as assigned or needed.\nThe incumbent is responsible for the awareness, understanding, specific responsibilities and management of the Environmental Management System (EMS) as stated in EMS policy CEVPL.00005.\nRequirements\nCommunity College in a related field\nFive years in a mechanical/electrical capacity as a tradesman or;\nFive years related
