About the Role We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our medical device manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up and operating CNC and manual machinery to manufacture high-quality medical components from raw materials in accordance with Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) standards and regulatory requirements, including FDA GMPs, ISO standards, and Corporate Quality Systems. The ideal candidate will also support product development efforts by machining and assembling prototype devices using CNC mill and lathe equipment while maintaining strict safety and cleanliness standards. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce medical devices, prototype devices, tooling, and test equipment according to verbal and written specifications. Perform equipment setup, operation, and preventative maintenance on CNC machinery. Inspect tooling for sharpness and usability to ensure optimal productivity and prevent machine damage. Monitor machine operations to verify accuracy and detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining; make approved program edits to fine-tune processes. Conduct first, middle, and last piece inspections in consultation with Quality Assurance to ensure AQL compliance. Perform in-process quality checks using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and design specifications. Troubleshoot machining issues and communicate project delays proactively. Maintain accurate documentation related to quality control, work in process, test results, labor tracking, and compliance requirements. Collaborate with engineers, technicians, supervisors, and product development staff to resolve production and quality issues and improve cost efficiency. Maintain a clean and safe machine shop environment in accordance with company safety policies. Assist in evaluating equipment, purchasing tools and supplies, and working with vendors when necessary. Perform other duties as assigned.
