Lyntris brings together the talents of Accelint and Vitesse teams under one mission, with each contributing deep expertise within their domain. Combining differentiated hardware, software and mission expertise, Lyntris helps customers sense threats, make sense of complex conditions and act with greater speed, precision and confidence in contested environments.\n\nLyntris supports U.S. and allied defense organizations across every branch — including Navy, Army, Air Force, Space Force and allied partners — spanning strategic, operational and tactical missions and every domain: Space, Air, Land, Sea and Cyber. With more than 200 active defense programs, Lyntris works at every level of the mission, from national command authority to the tactical edge.\n\nSolutions are designed by operators who understand the mission, engineered for the conditions that degrade or defeat standard systems, and built on an open, modular architecture that integrates into existing programs without requiring them to start over. Lyntris moves faster than the traditional defense cycle — with integrated design, build and test capabilities in-house — and delivers systems that sustain and endure long after initial fielding.\n\nWe are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to develop software solutions that support parsing, translation, and deterministic generation of complex engineering data and documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong systems programming experience in C++ and/or Python, expertise reverse-engineering proprietary and binary file formats, and the ability to build reliable tooling for data transformation, schema translation, and automated code generation. This role will focus on developing reproducible software pipelines that convert complex engineering artifacts into standardized formats, generate technical documentation, and support model-driven engineering efforts across multidisciplinary teams.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain software applications and utilities using C++ and/or Python to support engineering data processing and automation.\nReverse-engineer, decode, and parse proprietary and binary file formats to extract, transform, and validate engineering data.\nDevelop software capable of parsing serialized object graphs, including Java-serialized structures, hex-encoded binary streams, and other complex data representations.\nAnalyze and resolve large cross-referenced object graphs while maintaining data integrity and consistency throughout transformation processes.\nDesign and implement compiler, transpiler, and schema translation solutions to convert engineering artifacts between formats such as XSD to Protocol Buffers (.proto), model representations to IDL, and other structured data formats.\nDevelop and maintain deterministic, reproducible software build pipelines and integrate automated testing and deployment within CI/CD environments.\nCreate and maintain automated document generation toolchains utilizing LaTeX, AsciiDoc, PDF generation, and SVG/PNG rendering technologies.\nCollaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, and architects to develop scalable automation solutions supporting engineering workflows.\nSupport software verification, validation, debugging, and performance optimization activities.\nDocument software architecture, interfaces, and technical processes to ensure maintainability and knowledge transfer.\nLearn and apply MBSE concepts, including XMI and SysML data models, to support future engineering integration efforts.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience).\n5+ years of professional software development experience.\nStrong systems programming experience using C++ and/or Python.\nExperience reverse-engineering and decoding proprietary and binary file formats.\nExperience parsing serialized object graphs, including Java-serialized structures, binary streams, or similar complex serialized data.\nExperience resolving large, cross-referenced object graphs and implementing robust data transformation solutions.\nExperience developing compiler, transpiler, schema translation, or automated code generation tools.\nExperience implementing deterministic and reproducible software build processes and integrating software within CI/CD pipelines.\nExperience developing or maintaining automated document generation toolchains utilizing technologies such as LaTeX, AsciiDoc, PDF generation, and SVG/PNG rendering.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams.\nCurrently holds an active U.S. national security clearance or is able to receive and maintain one.\nPreferred Qualifications (Not Required)\nMaster's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\nExperience with schema translation technologies such as XSD, Protocol Buffers (.proto), Interface Definition Language (IDL), or similar data definition languages.\nFamiliarity with XMI, SysML, or Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts.\nExperience supporting defense, aerospace, or other complex engineering programs.\nExperience developing software tooling for engineering automation, model transformation, or digital engineering environments.\nExperience with performance optimization, software architecture, and large-scale data processing.\nFamiliarity with software configuration management and DevSecOps practices.\nActive-duty military experience.\nPhysical Requirements\nProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.\nMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.\nClearance Requirements\nSome positions will require access to U.S. National Security information.
