As a key member of our engineering team, you'll ensure our POS solutions are performant, reliable, and perfectly aligned with our clients' business needs.ResponsibilitiesArchitect, build, and maintain high-quality, reusable, and performant Shopify POS applications.\r\nDevelop custom UI Extensions using the Shopify POS UI Extensions SDK to create bespoke in-store workflows.\r\nIntegrate server-side logic and third-party services with POS frontend components.\r\nCollaborate closely with project managers, frontend developers, and clients to define and address technical and business requirements for retail environments.\r\nThoroughly test and debug applications across various devices, including physical Shopify POS hardware.\r\nWrite clean, well-documented code and build reusable libraries for future use.\r\nStay ahead of emerging technologies and updates within the Shopify POS platform.\r\nTroubleshoot complex issues in live retail environments, ensuring minimal disruption to store operations.\r\n4+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years focused on Shopify app development.\r\n1 year of hands-on Shopify Point of Sale (POS) experience.\r\nDemonstrable experience building and successfully deploying custom Shopify POS applications and extensions OR retail background is strongly preferred, but not required.\r\nStrong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), React, TypeScript.\r\nProven integrations with payment gateways, tax engines, loyalty/fraud platforms, ERP, Inventory, OMS.\r\nEducation: Degree or certification in software development.\r\nCommunication: Fluent writing and speaking in English.\r\nGood organizational and documentation skills with a detail-oriented mindset.Technical Skills:\r\nIntegrations between POS and RFID platforms.\r\nKnowledge of Latest POS UI Extension Targets.\r\nKnowledge of Latest Admin Direct API’s.\r\nExperience in iPaaS and event-driven architectures.\r\nObservability Implementation (New Relic/Datalog/Sentry, alerts, dashboards, SLIs/SLOs).\r\nKnowledge of security best practices Tools & Stack (typical).\r\nJavaScript, React, TypeScript, @shopify/retail-ui-extensions(-react), Polaris.\r\nNode.js/Remix, Shopify Admin GraphQL, Web hooks, App Bridge.\r\nCI/CD with GitHub Actions (or similar), Shopify Partners deploy.\r\nAWS (EventBridge, Lambda) or equivalent cloud services.\r\nBonus to have experience integrating POS applications with hardware like receipt printers, barcode scanners, and payment terminals.\r\nBonus to have familiarity with inventory management systems, loyalty programs, or other common retail technologies.\r\nBonus on having experience in other programming languages, such as Python/Ruby/PHP.Soft Skills:\r\nExcellent problem-solving skills to analyze information appropriately and find the best solutions taking a balanced view to reach logical conclusions and make relevant decisions.\r\nOrganizational skills to establish efficient and appropriate plans for self and others and adapt quickly and effectively to unexpected changes whilst still ensuring objectives are met.\r\nRemote Work and Flexibility: We offer the option to work remotely, allowing you to manage your time and achieve a healthy work-life balance.
