We provide a no-cost, ten-week construction training program, placement services, and career advancement support. This dedication is embodied in our policies and business practices and is integral to the success of our mission.\nLOCATION: 405 NE Church Street, Portland, Oregon 97211\nHOUR REQUIREMENTS: Full-Time\nWORK SCHEDULE:\nMonday – Thursday [IN-PERSON]: 7:00 AM-11:30 AM, 12:30 PM-4:00 PM\nFriday [Remote OPTIONAL]: 7:00 AM-11:30 AM, 12:30 PM-4:00 PM\n*Some evenings and weekends may be required – with prior notice\nNECESSARY JOB REQUIREMENTS:\nBachelor’s degree or 3 years job placement-related experience.\nThe ability to guide and develop others to improve their performance and achieve their goals.\nThe ability to adjust quickly to new situations, environments, and changing priorities.\nThe ability to ask questions, actively listen, and find creative solutions to problems.\nThe ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, participants, and partners.\nThe ability to offer support, problem-solving, and recommendations to participants dealing with various challenges.\nAttending meetings as assigned by the Manager or Senior Job Developer.\nThe ability to assist with event planning and management.\nProficiency in public speaking and teaching skills to others.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and using smartphones and laptops.\nWillingness to assist with urine analysis drug tests: handout and receive cups.\nHave reliable transportation for local travel during work hours.\nThe ability to drive 12-15 passenger vans.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nKnowledge about the Trades, including union and non-union labor practices within the construction trades\nTwo years or more of experience working in or with construction trades\nExperience working with individuals impacted by the justice system\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties.\nMoves regularly throughout the day in an office environment.\nProlonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.\nMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.\nTransports items occasionally, up to 15 pounds.\nCommunicates regularly throughout the day via email, messages, and phone calls.\nPerforms repetitive tasks such as typing or data entry.\nThe typical noise level is very loud.\nTRAVEL REQUIREMENT:\nThis position requires infrequent (up to 5% of the position) travel related to the job duties above.
