DEPARTMENT: General Plate – Department 2 (primary)POSITION ACCOUNTABLE TO: Production ManagerPOSITION TYPE: Full-time, hourly (non-exempt)JOB SUMMARY: The Helper operator provides constant support to the General Plate department. This individual is responsible for completing the daily production schedule and ensuring optimal quality for all work completed.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: o Inspect in-process parts for General Plateo Communicate directly with inspector on quality concernso Work directly with rackers on technical improvements and efficiencyo Blast, rack, and de-rack partso Provide constant support where neededo Accountable for good attendance and punctualityo Inform management of quality issues and problems in departmentSUPPORTING JOB FUCTIONS:o Assist with in-process and Final Inspection companywide, as neededo Assist with plating material vendor relationshipo Communicate performance metrics with departmentREQUIRED SKILLS: o Ability to read and write in Englisho Legible handwritingo Ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks simultaneouslyo Basic sketch and blueprint reading skillso Use inspection equipment (calipers, micrometer, mechanical gages, x-ray, and thickness gages)o Detail-orientedo Basic computer skillso Basic mathematics skillso Positive, can-do attitude with excellent attendance and punctualityo Must be able to work independently with little supervision after completion of the training periodPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:o Ability to stand and/or walk on your feet for extended periods of timeo Must pass a drug test and criminal background checko Ability to lift and move 50 pounds without mechanical assistancePREFERRED SKILLS:o Bilingual (English/Spanish)EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:o High school diploma/GED
