This role will be part of the launch site supply chain team and will be based out of Cape Canaveral, FL. The Sourcing Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the cryogenic & power Generation Capital supply chain team. This position is responsible for end-to-end management of global suppliers providing critical components and capital equipment for cryogenic systems and power generation hardware. You will drive sourcing strategies, supplier performance, mitigate risks, optimize costs, and ensure on-time delivery to support high-volume production ramps for the Starship program.ResponsibilitiesCreate sourcing strategies for assigned categories to reduce risk and meet targets for the purchasing departmentDevelop and maintain key internal stakeholder relationships to create strategic sourcing models that optimize the value of products and services that support business unit requirements to maintain continuous cost reduction programs for controllable expendituresPresent confidently to company executives and key decision makers on high-stakes negotiations and launch critical response eventsCommunicate, manage, and drive compliance for sourcing strategiesIdentify and execute cost reduction projects, including planning, coordinating with stakeholders, estimating completion, and project updatesPerform advanced quantitative and business process analyses to identify financial impacts of decisions, cost improvement, and performance for assigned categoriesCollaborate with stakeholders to define service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) for suppliers and measure the appropriate criteria, such as: delivery of business results, cost reduction, quality, and timeliness of deliveryConduct research, perform benchmarking, and gather market analysis for assigned categoriesCreate contract documents in collaboration with the legal departmentManage contracts to ensure the performance of the supplier to contract obligationsUnderstand interrelationships between contracts and terms while applying creativity and sound business reasoning to interpret application of contract to business needsMaximize value and cost savings benefits while lowering risk through strategic negotiationsIdentify and drive year over year cost optimization through reducing usage and eliminating waste within our operationsEstablish preferred suppliers for assigned categoriesCreate and implement management programs to develop, continuously improve, manage the performance of, and monitor KPIs of the supply basePlace purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices related to assigned categoriesDevelop and lead efforts to reduce the number of transactions for assigned categoriesBasic Qualifications Advanced degree and 3+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; or bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; or 9+ years of experience working in one or more of the following:EngineeringPurchasingContract negotiationMaterial or production planningOperations or supply chain managementMaterial cost controlMaster production scheduling1+ years of experience working with propellants, cryogenics, oil & gas bulk commodities, carriers, and/or large capital equipment procurementPreferred Skills And ExperienceExperience in cryogenic systems (LNG, LOX/LN2), power generation (turbines, gensets), or rocket propulsion supply chainsExperience sourcing air separation units (ASUs) to support liquid oxygen and nitrogen productionExperience sourcing specialized, vacuum-insulated pressure vessels (tanks)Experience sourcing power generation equipment (gas turbines)Ability to read technical drawings and work with engineering BOMsStrong technical knowledge and skills in current technologies and applications (e.g., MS Office Suite, SQL, PowerBI, etc.)Experience with technical procurement or manufacturingExcellent communication skills with experience presenting to executive leadershipThrives in ambiguity, with a bias for action and in a startup-like cultureRemarkable problem-solving skills with a bias for speed and positive impactExceptional analytical and organizational skillsEffective written, verbal, and presentation communication skillsHolds self to the highest ethical standards, and conducts all activities with the highest integrityAdditional RequirementsAbility to pass Air Force background checks for Cape CanaveralMust be able to travel - up to 25% of work week travel may be required, including international travelMust be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to meet major milestonesThis position is based in Cape Canaveral, FL and requires being onsite - remote work not consideredItar RequirementsTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C.1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C.1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
