The ideal candidate will be experienced in both virtualized and non-virtualized server technologies, possess deep knowledge in system architecture, and be driven to innovate through automation and process improvement.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDesign, document, and implement robust server solutions including replication strategies, backup procedures, and disaster recovery planning.\nSupport and maintain server technologies across virtualized (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and non-virtualized environments.\nConfigure, install, and upgrade new and existing systems, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.\nPerform in-depth system analysis, including I/O performance, architecture assessments, and workload optimization.\nDevelop comprehensive system documentation, including configuration standards, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.\nProvide strategic recommendations for enhancements and additions to server infrastructure, based on performance monitoring and business needs.\nExecute operating system upgrades and implement system enhancements in accordance with best practices and change management policies.\nCreate and execute test plans to validate that systems meet documented user requirements and function as intended.\nImprove system efficiency and reduce manual workload through orchestration and automation tools.\nDevelop and maintain procedures to ensure ongoing system reliability, availability, and compliance with enterprise standards.\nConsult with internal stakeholders on system engineering principles, standards, policies, and best practices.\nResearch and analyze system design issues to support network performance troubleshooting and optimization efforts.\nRequired Qualifications\n\nProven experience in server administration in enterprise IT environments\nStrong understanding of Linux, Windows, and AWS Cloud (EC2) server environments\nExperience designing and implementing redundant and fault-tolerant systems\nProficiency in documentation development for system architectures and procedures\nExperience with disaster recovery, backup solutions, and business continuity planning\nKnowledge of automation/orchestration tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, Puppet)\nFamiliarity with enterprise support tools (e.g., monitoring suites, ticketing systems, patch management platforms)\nExcellent communication skills and ability to present complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience supporting government or federal IT systems\nKnowledge of ITIL, NIST 800-53, and other compliance frameworks\nFamiliarity with hybrid cloud environments (e.g., AWS GovCloud)\nWork Authorization:\nMust be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain or maintain Public Trust (High) clearance.\nActioNet is a CMMI-DEV Level 4, CMMI-SVC Level 4, ISO 20000, ISO 27001, ISO 9001, HDI-certified, woman-owned IT Solutions Provider with strong qualifications and expertise in Agile Software Engineering, Cloud Solutions, Cyber Security and IT Managed Services.
