Other duties may be assigned.\n\nDesign, develop, test, and enhance software systems that perform critical, real-time processing of data collected from toll collection equipment, executing business logic and decision-making based on incoming data.\nBuild and maintain robust, scalable, multi-threaded services and applications using C#, modern .NET/Java frameworks, and various APIs.\nParticipate in daily Scrum meetings, provide updates on task progress and collaborate closely with the team to ensure timely delivery of sprint goals.\nContribute to design discussions for new toll system features and performance improvements to existing functionality.\nMentor junior and mid-level engineers.\nAssist in system installations and provide post deployment support for customer reported issues\nAssist in trouble shooting customer reported bugs and update the program code base for bug resolutions\nProvide experience-based timelines and estimates for delivering high-quality products based on requirements and specifications.\nDemonstrate hands-on experience building and deploying containerized applications, contributing to modernized and portable deployment workflows.\nDesign, develop, and tune relational data structures, stored procedures, and queries in Microsoft SQL Server supporting high-volume transactional toll data.\nDevelop and maintain responsive Angular front-end applications that expose real-time toll and account data to operations and customer service users.\nApply AI-assisted development tools and large language model (LLM) capabilities to accelerate delivery, and contribute to the design, integration, and evaluation of AI/LLM-enabled product features.\nDocument program code thoroughly and assist in preparing or updating user manuals and technical guides.\n\nRequirements and Qualifications\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.\n\nBachelor’s degree in computer science or a related Engineering field required, or equivalent experience. Master’s degree in computer science or a related Engineering field is highly preferred.\n10 to 13 years professional software development experience building multi-threaded applications in C# using.NET Core (now .NET), primarily on Linux based systems and front-end development with Angular.\nProficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks.\nGood understanding of Angular and Typescript, Material design, Kendo.\nGood understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX.\nProficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.\nStrong foundation in Object-Oriented Architecture (OOA) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles, with the ability to design modular, maintainable, and scalable systems.\nProven ability to design and implement scalable, high-performance APIs and microservices.\nStrong experience with Microsoft SQL Server database development, including T-SQL, stored procedures, schema design, indexing, and query performance tuning against large transactional data sets.\nPractical experience developing, packaging, and deploying applications using Docker or similar containerization technologies.\nHands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools (for example GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or equivalent) in day-to-day engineering work, with a practical understanding of large language model (LLM) capabilities, limitations, and appropriate use.\nDemonstrated passion for software design, problem solving, and hands-on development, with a commitment to delivering high-quality, maintainable software solutions.\nStrong communication skills to deliver instructions for the team and communicate well with others.\nSound decision making and independent judgment.\n\nDesired Qualifications:\n\nAdvanced experience developing applications using .NET Core (now .NET), and modern .NET technologies.\nCloud solution experience platform independent (Linux, Windows).\nThe candidate should have experience with unit testing and should have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, bug-free code on time.\nExperience working in web and desktop/application environments is beneficial for understanding end-to-end system behavior, though primary responsibilities focus on backend services running in Linux-based production environment understanding end-to-end system behavior, though primary responsibilities focus on backend services and APIs.\nAbility to troubleshoot applications running in Linux-based production environments.\nWorking knowledge of message queues and asynchronous/event-driven communication patterns.\nStrong commitment to unit testing, code quality, and delivering maintainable, high‑reliability software.\nStrong understanding of component-based web application architectures and clear separation of concerns between frontend clients and backend services.\nFamiliarity with modern frontend frameworks and tools such as Angular, Kendo UI, and Tailwind are desirable.\nExcellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, especially in diagnosing complex technical challenges.\nExperience integrating large language models (LLMs) or other AI/ML services into production applications, including prompt design, API integration, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and evaluation of model output quality.\nAwareness of data privacy, security, and governance considerations when applying AI/LLM technologies to customer and transactional data.\n\nPhysical Demands/Work Environment\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
