Community Engagement and Communications Manager The Conferences Community Engagement and Communications Manager develops communications content, channels and resources to support and engage IEEE’s vibrant global conferences and event community. With over 2,000 technical conferences and events each year in over 100 countries, the manager in this role will promote IEEE conferences and their value and impact on the engineering community. Using a variety of existing and new communications methods, this professional will highlight IEEE event innovations, best practices, and conferencing leaders by developing success stories and other content and sharing it with the IEEE community and beyond. The individual in this role will work closely with the IEEE Conferences, Events and Experiences (CEE) Team, volunteer leaders, and team members across IEEE to identify business needs, design resources, employ media platforms, and engage in creative storytelling promoting IEEE conferences and events. This position requires a proactive, innovative, creative, detail-oriented individual who can enhance the visibility and support the work of the IEEE Events Community. This position does not have any direct reports.Key ResponsibilitiesEnvision and execute communications and support needs of the global IEEE Events Community Establishes, manages, and optimizes communications channels for the community, including email communications, social media, and digital presenceCollaborates with CEE leadership to identify communication strategies, themes, topics, and messages that align with business priorities and support community needsWorks across a broad range of mediums, including written, digital, email, newsletters, website, video, podcasts and more Leads inbound marketing efforts by developing personalized content that attracts, engages, and empowers key audiencesCreates and edits engaging copy, content, visuals, and multimedia to empower and connect the IEEE Events Community Creates and maintains a schedule of communications to support community engagement and CEE operational objectivesDevelops content and communications that support CEE Customer Experience and operational initiatives Supports CEE in sharing operational highlights, business metrics, and success stories with IEEE leadershipServes as an IEEE Brand Ambassador, ensuring consistency and alignment of resources and assets to the CEE and IEEE BrandCurates and creates compelling content that highlights IEEE event leadership and excellenceCollaborates on opportunities to showcase IEEE events and CEE activities in various media outlets, social channels, and external vehiclesDevelops relationships with a network of IEEE-approved vendors to support communications and marketing efforts Measures and analyzes the performance of efforts to gauge effectiveness, makes data-driven recommendations, and optimizes activities as needed.Conducts analysis and evaluation of online presence to optimize user experience, ensure accessibility, create brand alignment, and address community needsRepresents CEE to Internal and external stakeholders, including Digital Innovations, Marketing Sales and Design, Volunteer Leadership, Vendors, and ColleaguesConducts research to stay current with communications channels and toolsRegularly makes presentations and updates to leadershipSpecial projects as assignedEducationA bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a concentration in English or communications is preferred.
