We connect you with verified openings from employers you can trust.\nJob Summary:\nVertical Bridge is the nation's largest private owner and operator of communications infrastructure, providing solutions to the wireless industry. The Structural Engineer will support the Engineering/Operations team in maintaining the structural integrity of the tower portfolio through analysis, design, and coordination of tower structures and modifications.\nResponsibilities:\n• Perform structural analysis on existing tower structures / communication structures to determine their structural capacity.\n• Perform structural analysis / review of existing antenna mounts / antenna supporting structures to determine their capacity.\n• Perform structural calculations on foundations for tower structures / communication structures to determine their capacity\n• Perform seismic calculations on existing tower structures / communication structures to determine if the seismic loading or wind loading governs.\n• Design tower modifications to reinforce tower structures if the loading parameters produce areas of overstressing. Coordinate the design with drafting to produce accurate detail drawings for bidding and construction purposes.\n• Analyze existing antenna mounts to determine their ability to support the proposed loading.\n• Write professional engineering analysis, construction reports and review peer reports. Reports to be used by city, county, and state jurisdictions for permitting.\n• Stay current with the standard changes affecting the tower and communication structures industry and as tenants and clients change and modify their loadings.\n• Coordinate with outside consulting firms, tower crews both verbally and in writing when necessary to make sure projected dates of field work is completed on time.\n• Utilize the company’s workflow process to communicate engineering analysis results to operations and leasing teams.\n• Assist with the tower defect review process during acquisition process of new towers.\n• Assist the tower repair and maintenance process on an ongoing basis.\n• Provide input and think creatively to help improve efficiency on how the engineering department is performing various tasks.\n• Assist other engineers as required.\nQualifications:\nRequired:\n• Four-year degree with emphasis in civil / structural engineering\n• Knowledge with the various building codes and standards, IBC, TIA Rev H, ACI, ASCE – 7\n• Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently\n• Effective in an entrepreneurial culture, working independently and as part of a team\nPreferred:\n• Two years of experience in the communication tower industry preferred but not mandatory\n• Knowledge in TNX Tower, RISA 3D, AutoCAD, L-Pile and other software a plus but will provide training\nCompany:\nVertical Bridge is the nation's largest private owner and operator of communications infrastructure and locations, providing build-to-suit and colocation solutions to the wireless industry.
