Capital Budget Manager

DescriptionPerforms advanced coordination, planning, and project work associated with the management of the city’s capital planning process. Responsibilities include coordination and development of the annual capital improvement plan, ongoing financial management of existing project budgets, and preparation of reports for leadership and advisory bodies. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Budget and Performance Management Director.Examples of DutiesDevelops, coordinates, and maintains the City’s multi-year Capital Improvement PlanProvides ongoing support to departments regarding current and future project funding needs; prepares budget amendments as neededActs as the primary point of contact for all departmental stakeholders, facilitates effective communication, and addresses questions and concernsPrepares reports and presentations for city departments, city management, and city councilProvides annual and ad hoc training on capital planning process Completes special projects as assignedTypical QualificationsBachelor's degree with coursework in Public Administration/Affairs (MPA), Finance, or related field and extensive experience in governmental budget development in a local government budget office, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
