Architect","description":"Position OverviewThe Data Architect will lead data modeling, ingest architecture, and search-platform integration for legislative data supporting Congress.gov, Congress.gov Admin Tools, and the Text Analysis Program (TAP), including data drawn from House, Senate, and Government Publishing Office (GPO) sources.Minimum QualificationsProfessional experience in Agile Methodology and legislative or complex-dataset environments.Demonstrated expertise with XML, JSON, and other structured data formats.Professional experience in data modernization initiatives.Demonstrated experience with data ingest into Solr and other search engines.Proven ability in API design and operation for complex data sets.Experience with Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes drawing from external sources (e.g., House, Senate, GPO).Working knowledge of Python (Django framework), Celery, and RabbitMQ a plus.Education RequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.Clearance and Citizenship RequirementsClearance: Ability to pass a Library of Congress personnel suitability review/background check.Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States.Location: RemoteTechnical EnvironmentData/Search: Solr, Oracle, Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB.ETL/Processing: Python, Django, Celery, RabbitMQ.Formats/Standards: XML, JSON, USLM content.Release Management: Jenkins, SVN, Open Deploy, Jira, Confluence.Duties and ResponsibilitiesArchitect data models and ingest pipelines for legislative content, including bills, resolutions, treaties, House and Senate communications, and CRS products.Lead data modernization efforts, including modernized data ingest functions developed in collaboration with House, Senate, and GPO data partners.Design and refine Solr-based search integration for legislative content and Congressional Record data.Architect APIs supporting complex legislative data sets for the Congress.gov public API and Admin Tools.Support Data Manager functions under Task 2, including maintenance of legislation, nominations, committee meeting, treaty, and CRS product data, and authority data.Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and User Story creation sessions.Collaborate with Library SMEs, developers, testers, and Product Owners throughout the Agile development
