This role is ideal for a technically strong accounting leader who understands risks and how to build process to mitigate them, has a sharp attention to detail, and has a strong technical background.\nYou'll own the integrity of our financial reporting, the balance sheet, and control environment, while acting as a trusted thought partner to the executive leadership team. You'll play a critical role in strengthening governance, ensuring audit readiness, and maintaining operational discipline across the company. This role is positioned at the Director level, with the opportunity to broaden responsibility as the business scales.\nWhere You'll Work\nThis role will be based out of our Waltham, MA headquarters. Our company in-office schedule is designed to maximize collaboration & relationship building balanced with flexibility and well-being with 3 days in office and Thursdays/Friday being remote, flex days.\nWhat You'll Do:\nManage the general ledger through the monthly/quarterly/annual close processes\nEnsure accurate and timely financial reporting and balance sheet integrity\nDesign, implement, and maintain a strong control environment\nLead internal and external audits and support Audit Committee requirements\nEnsure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and governance expectations\nOversee accounting for incentive programs\nSupport pension-related accounting and Pension Committee activities\nPartner with FP&A on forecasting, targets, and performance measurement\nSupport monthly and annual business reviews with accurate financial insights\nEnsure compliance with various taxing authorities\nPrepare and present materials to the Audit Committee\nLead, mentor, and develop the accounting and controls team\nWho You Are:\nA trusted accounting leader with strong judgment and high standards\nDeeply committed to accuracy, discipline, and control excellence\nComfortable operating at both the technical and executive levels\nA proactive partner who anticipates risks and solves problems\nA people leader who builds strong, capable teams\nWhat You'll Need:\nBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance\nCPA preferred\n10+ years of progressive controllership or accounting leadership experience\nExpertise in GAAP, controls, audits, and balance sheet management\nExperience supporting manufacturing, supply chain, or complex operations preferred\nStrong leadership and executive communication skills\nAt Welch's we value diversity, a passion for what you do, and a commitment to continuous learning.
