The managed data system facilitates the flow of information to and from a variety of customers and data sources associated with the background investigation and adjudication process. We are searching for an information technology expert who possesses a consulting background with experience in delivering operation and maintenance support. This position will focus on the development of reporting solutions and recommendations and the assistance in implementing the solutions and recommendations to meet the information needs of the client and its customers. Occasionally onsite in Washington DC.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nDevelop software code to create, enhance, resolve, and/or maximize IT solutions to support reporting processes\nAssist with and/or support the deployment of system updates/enhancements/upgrades\nTroubleshoot and resolve issues related to the applications and systems\nAutomate manual processes\nImplement data retention schedule for the applications\nDevelop queries/reports\nRecommend alternative database structure to improve/enhance performance and to ensure the long-term sustainability of the project\nTroubleshoot/optimize the performance of associated databases and connections\nMigrate existing applications to (newer) identified environments\nDocument historical, current, and future enhancement efforts\nGather user requirements and develop automated specifications/requirements\nBuild/enhance data dictionaries to include defining metadata management approaches and data governance processes\nIdentify, design, and implement solutions for extraction and integration of data from legacy systems for reporting, decision support, and analysis\nDesired Qualifications:\nActive CBP BI\nExperience with CBP\nAnalytical, design and problem-solving skills at multi-product/multi-environment level to troubleshoot system defects and mitigate the issues they cause\nSkills in research and analysis, project planning and implementation. Understanding and awareness of business issues as they impact overall project plans\nExcellent verbal and written communications skills, with an ability to express and document complex technical concepts in business terms.
