Our goal is to make computation as effortless and ubiquitous as electricity.\nIf you'd like to build the world's best deep learning cloud, join us.\nNote: This position requires presence in our San Jose office location 4 days per week; Lambda’s designated work from home day is currently Tuesday.\nAbout the Job\nJoin our Data Center Infrastructure Services team as a Data Center Fit Out Project Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in all facets of the white space fit out including physical infrastructure, structured cabling, power distribution, space planning and HVAC of our leased colocation facilities.This position reports directly to the Director of Data Center Infrastructure Capacity and Engineering,\nWhat You'll Do\nProject manage data center fit out projects and work with our data center design subject matter experts to provide on-site support for data center design and build projects from inception to final white space handoff.\nWork with the team to estimate project costs and review contractor proposals.\nHelp develop RFI (Requests for Information) and RFP (Requests for Proposal) documents required for bid leveling, overseeing comparison and analysis process.\nDevelop budget and project plans during the analysis and design phase of the project.\nBe an onsite PM to oversee subcontractors while ensuring project deliverables and project delivery expectations are met.\nManage our expectations with contractors and maintain status documents throughout the project re: scope, budget, billing, schedules and timeframes.\nOversee and review all expenses related to the project, work directly with Director of Data Center Infrastructure Capacity and Engineering on approvals.\nExhibit leadership characteristics: strong communication skills, full understanding of project requirements, good decision making and drive to exceed client expectations\nYou\nEducational Background: Possess a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.\n3 to 7+ years of relevant data center facilities design and build project management experience.\nPrior, recent experience successfully managing large-scale data center build-outs / fit outs in colocation facilities.\nPossess hands-on experience with data center design and deployment best practices - including a strong understanding of power distribution and/or structured cable design in the data center.\nAbility to drive our expectations with vendors and maintain status documents for client projects throughout the project re: scope, budget, billing, schedules and timeframes.\nTechnical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in power distribution, emergency backup systems, and critical infrastructure electrical systems.\nSoftware Skills: Skilled in using AutoCAD, Revit, and other electrical design and simulation software.\nProject Management: Experienced in leading complex projects with multidisciplinary teams, showing a proven ability to drive projects to completion under stringent timelines.\nNice to Have\nStrong understanding of MEP design drawings including plans, sections and elevations.\nRelationships with local vendors or data center REITs.\nAbility to estimate projects and review contractor proposals.\nKnowledge in bid documents and contractor bid leveling.\nRCDD, BICSI DCDC, CDCDP or PMP or related Data Center Facilities Design certifications are a plus.\nSalary Range Information\nBased on market data and other factors, the salary range for this position is $114,000-$164,000 annually.
