The start time for this position is currently 8:00 a.m.\n\nGENERAL SUMMARY\nUnder limited direction of the Director, supervises and evaluates the effectiveness of the Juvenile Justice Center programs.\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nDevelops, oversees, and maintains the Juvenile Justice Center's behavioral and clinical programs ensuring best practices.\n\nIdentifies grant opportunities through Federal and State funding resources to provide programs to support the needs of involved youth and families and oversees the implementation and administration of grant programs.\n\nMonitors implementation of programs and develops solutions to barriers in implementation of these approaches.\n\nAnalyzes behavioral trends and provides alternative solutions to address population behavior concerns.\n\nProvides crisis intervention and support to individuals served to stabilize situations as needed.\n\nOversees the development of treatment plans, safety plans and behavior management plans.\n\nCollaborates with community partners in order to expand and enhance programs by the department.\n\nManages, assigns, directs, and supervises the work activities of assigned staff.\n\nOperates an automobile to perform assigned job functions.\n\nPerforms related duties as assigned.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nRequired Education and Experience\n\nMaster’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a directly related mental health field\n\nA minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience working directly with residents who present with developmental disabilities, severe emotional disturbances, and other similar issues\n\nA minimum of three (3) years of experience supervising mental health clinicians\n\nPreferred Education and Experience\n\nPrevious experience with adolescents\n\nPrevious experience working in a residential setting\n\nRequired Licenses or Certifications\n\nOne of the following required licenses: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Limited Licensed Master of Social Work (LLMSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC)\n\nPossession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and operable, insured automobile for authorized travel\n\nCOMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF JOB DUTIES\nKnowledge of:\n\nKnowledge of the Michigan Mental Health Code and its rules and regulations\n\nKnowledge of licensing regulations and other regulatory requirements, including investigation techniques and reporting, as they relate to residential programs and mental health services\n\nKnowledge of mental health issues and behavioral problems of delinquent and neglected youth\n\nKnowledge of juvenile justice reforms that emphasize residential care\n\nKnowledge of current trends and methods in addressing mental health, juvenile justice, delinquency, and at-risk youth\n\nKnowledge of residential best practices such as trauma informed and culturally competent, dialectical behavioral therapy and collaborative problem solving\n\nKnowledge of community programs and services that may be beneficial for a juvenile justice
