Job Summary: The Registered Nurse in the Pediatric StepDown unit provides skilled nursing care to medically complex pediatric patients within a pediatric rehabilitation and specialized inpatient care setting. Responsibilities include patient assessment, communication, and potential supervision of CNAs/LPNs/PCAs.Location:Washington, District of Columbia, United StatesResponsibilities:- Provide skilled nursing care to pediatric patients in a step-down unit.- Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs.- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.- Supervise CNAs, LPNs, and PCAs as needed.- Document patient care accurately and timely in the charting system.- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.Required Skills & Certifications:- Active Registered Nurse license.- BLS/CPR certification.- 1-2 years of nursing experience.- Strong assessment and communication skills.- Experience with medically complex pediatric patients.Preferred Skills & Certifications:- Pediatric experience.- CPN or pediatric rehabilitation certification.Special Considerations:- Floating within scope to similar pediatric rehab/inpatient/SNF units may be required.- Occasional weekend shifts may be required (facility dependent).- Must show proof of pending RN license if applicable.Scheduling:- 36 guaranteed hours per week.
