This position is onsite only and will be located in Newport News, VA.\n\nFull time (40 hours/week + occasional paid overtime)\nPotential for travel (minimal - up to 4 weeks/year)\nLocation: Newport News, VA (onsite 5 days a week)\nSalary: Compensation to suit experience and capabilities\nWhat You Will Do/Responsibilities\nModify Ship Equipment Technical Manuals\nReview customer-proposed modifications to existing technical manuals.\nPerform edits in Adobe Acrobat to update content of manual for new or modified equipment component or assembly.\nEdits may include removing pages, adding pages, adding or modifying page numbers, adding revision notes, and modifying document revision and date.\nProvide weekly updates on work status, number of documents completed, and other relevant metrics.\nComplete Equipment Technical Manual List Reviews in support of shipboard equipment Periodic Maintenance Requirements\nReview list of equipment installed aboard various Navy and MSC ship classes.\nReconcile equipment list against digital library of technical manuals and assign appropriate manuals to equipment.\nGenerate lists of items for update in the master database.\nProvide weekly updates on work status, quantity of items reviewed, associations made, and other relevant metrics.\nProvide Work Package Development SupportDevelop work specification attachments (lists of circuit breakers, relief valves, hoses, etc.) based on review of applicable system drawings. Provide technical support by reviewing drawings, technical manuals, and machinery history to assist in the development and validation of work specifications.\nRequired Qualifications and Experience\nU.S. citizenship and ability to acquire confidential security clearance. Active Confidential (or greater level) clearance preferred.\nAt least 2 years of experience in maintenance management, ship operations, manufacturing plant operations, or power plant operations. 4 or more years of experience preferred.\nHigh School Degree or Equivalent\nWorking knowledge of ship or industrial plant equipment and systems\nStrong written and spoken communication skills. Must be able to communicate technical issues/solutions clearly and effectively.\nProficiency in MS-Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook minimum).\nStrong attention to quality, organization skills, computing, and presentation skills.\nMust work well in a team dynamic but also be able to work independently.\nAble and willing to occasionally perform inspections and work onboard ships and in shipyards.
