Technician I, Operator (DS)
Job TitleThe principal accountability of the position is to support all general production activities. This includes setting equipment up for production, any necessary cleaning, monitoring the filling process of the finished product, and final packaging for distribution. This position will also support any other production activities as required by the Lead, Production Supervisor, or the Manufacturing Manager.This is a dayshift position, 6:00am - 6:30pm on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule.QualificationsEducation, Certifications and Experience:Highschool Diploma or GEDKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracyAble to safely operate a tow motorWorks in accordance with, and supports, company Standard Operating Procedures as outlined in the HACCP, SSOP and Quality manualsReliable, dependable, with a "team player" orientationWillingness to be flexible on working hours, including weekends and holidaysWilling to work overtime as neededWillingness to speak up and review problems with supervisor in order to determine best course of action, offering suggestions and providing clear communication of the problemDemonstrated verbal communication skills to be effectiveWorking Conditions / Physical RequirementsWorking Conditions:Frequent work in a hot and humid production environmentOccasional work required outside in various temperaturesThis position may perform activities in an environment that contains hazardous elements and requires safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and guidelinesWork must be performed in a safe manner for personal protection and for the protection of other team membersAll safety procedures in all functional areas must be followed, enforced, and strictly complied withPhysical Requirements:Sitting, standing, walking, repetitive use of hands/arms/legs, and eye/hand coordination for up to 12 hours a day.Ability to lift or carry 50 poundsOccasional bending, reaching overhead, crouching, balancing, pushing, or pullingAble to access all areas of the plant including confined spaces, the roof, and areas above equipment that require the use of a ladderAbility to operate cars, trucks, forklifts, and other powered equipment and toolsMust be able to wear all PPE that is requiredResponsibilitiesPrimary Responsibilities:Following all plant Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs) as trained, including wearing proper PPE and following safety guidelinesOperating the Bone Dumper machinery, including loading the Dumper and operating the Crane systemOperating Pallet Jacks and Tow Motors as needed, if certifiedAssisting with Pack-Off operations, including understanding the requirements for filling product into various containers and disposing of fat and mashCompleting necessary paperwork and documentation, must understand all packaging and labeling requirements for productsResponsible for creating and applying product labelsMaintain quality production by measuring and recording temperatures, monitoring tempered bone temperature, etcSupport proper sanitation practices by cleaning totes, cleaning the bone station, cleaning baskets, operating the foamer, following species-change procedures, and any required cleaning before, during, and after a batchSet-up and operate production and automated packaging equipmentUnderstand all equipment capabilities and production proceduresMaintain product segregation and lot/batch managementFollow all associated regulations and procedures, including USDA policies and allergen complianceAdhere to all safety standards and company policies/proceduresMaintain clean, organized and safe working environmentOther relevant duties as assigned and properly trained to completeSalary Range$20.60/hr. to $24.75/hr.EEO StatementAjinomoto is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, age, physical or mental disability, national origin, veteran status or any other basis protected by state, federal, or local law.
