Outreach and Events Associate

Job Title: Outreach and Events Associate (part-time) Location: Orange County, NY (with potential travel to Ulster County, Sullivan County, and New Jersey) Reports To: Communication Manager About Orange County Land Trust: The Orange County Land Trust (OCLT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting natural landscapes, watersheds, and working farms from the Hudson River to the Delaware River. With an expanding focus into Ulster County, Sullivan County, and New Jersey, OCLT is committed to protecting critical lands and fostering a strong connection between people and nature. Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and organized Outreach and Events Associate to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the Communications Manager to assist with event coordination, community outreach, fundraising activities, and donor relations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit development and event planning. This is a part-time position with flexible hours, averaging 25 hours per week. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of outreach and fundraising events. - Help manage event logistics, including vendor coordination, guest lists, and day-of-event tasks. - Support the Communications Manager in donor and community outreach, donor cultivation and retention, including mailings, thank-you letters, and donor database management. - Assist with grant research, writing, and reporting as needed. - Provide general administrative support to the team. Qualifications: - Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. - Experience with event planning or nonprofit development preferred, but not required. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Experience with donor management software is a plus. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Skills: - Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Other Requirements: - An Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred. - Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the region as needed. - Ability to work some nights and weekends. - Commitment to the mission of the Orange County Land Trust. Benefits Package: The Orange County Land Trust offers a generous benefits package.
