Core Job Responsibilities
On‑Field Performance & Instruction
Execute tryouts and evaluate athletic skills.
Lead, plan, and supervise all practices, games, and off-season conditioning.
Teach fundamental football skills, team play, and defensive/offensive strategies.
Ensure proper athletic conditioning and physical preparation.
Program Management & Administration
Oversee assistant coaches, volunteers, and student assistants.
Coordinate with the school Athletic Director regarding scheduling, transportation, and facilities.
Issue, track, and maintain accurate inventory logs of all team equipment and uniforms.
Compliance & Student Welfare
Enforce TMSAA eligibility bylaws and track academic compliance.
Keep highly accurate player records, including emergency medical data and insurance forms.
Maintain safety standards to minimize player risk and check field conditions.
Communication & Culture
Foster sportsmanship, character, and team discipline.
Maintain lines of communication with parents, faculty, administration, and community stakeholders.
Working Conditions
Environment: Demands long hours outdoors across changing weather conditions.
Schedule: Expect heavy after‑school commitments, evening game times, and seasonal weekend travel.
