The successful candidate will bring proven leadership, operational expertise, and financial acumen to manage a fleet department with a budget exceeding $15 million, while driving innovation, continuous improvement, and supporting overall company growth through strategic fleet management.\nSupervise and mentor 2 Fleet Managers and 1 Fleet Coordinator\nOversee the safe maintenance, operation, and utilization of 370 Class B hazmat trucks, 230 box trucks, and 90 passenger vehicles\nEnsure compliance with DOT, OSHA, hazmat transportation requirements, and EPA regulations\nManage IFTA reporting, vehicle registrations, and licensing requirements across multiple jurisdictions\nCoordinate with Ryder, Penske, MHC, Wheels, and other vendors on leasing, purchasing, and maintenance of fleet assets\nImplement preventative maintenance programs and optimize vehicle utilization\nManage procurement, replacement, and disposal of fleet assets\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and lower costs\nPartner with the Safety Department to evaluate and deploy new technologies (e.g., telematics, ADAS, AI-enabled safety systems)\nLead root cause analysis for mechanical failures, accidents, and recurring maintenance issues\nManage and monitor a fleet budget exceeding $15 million\nPrepare and submit CAPEX requests to support fleet expansion, replacement, and technology upgrades\nNegotiate with vendors and drive cost savings through fuel efficiency and lifecycle management\nDevelop and present KPIs, metrics, and regular status reports to senior leadership\nIdentify trends and recommend strategic improvements to enhance fleet performance\nChampion driver safety programs and compliance audits\nPromote a proactive safety culture through training, recognition, and continuous monitoring\nAlign fleet operations with NuCO2’s strategic objectives to support company growth and scalability\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMinimum 5 years of experience managing a fleet of comparable size and complexity\nDemonstrated success in supervising fleet teams and coordinating multi-location operations\nStrong financial management skills with experience overseeing budgets of $15M+\nProficiency in fleet management systems, telematics, and KPI reporting tools\nExcellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels\nKnowledge of DOT, OSHA, hazmat, EPA regulations, and IFTA reporting requirements\nExperience with continuous improvement initiatives, safety technology adoption, root cause analysis, CAPEX submissions, vendor coordination, and growth-focused fleet strategies preferred\nBachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, Business Administration, or related field strongly desired\n\nNuCO2 provides competitive pay and an exceptional benefits package, including health, dental, disability, and life insurance; paid holidays and vacation; a 401(k)-retirement plan; employee discounts; and opportunities for educational and professional development.
