{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"5c2a38361dead5b448c030c5","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/5c2a38361dead5b448c030c5","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/5c2a38361dead5b448c030c5","title":"FMO Supervisor Trainee Program","description":"Essential Duties and Responsibilities\nParticipate in structured training focused on safety, railcar repair standards, operational processes, leadership fundamentals, and applicable company policies.\nDevelop working knowledge of railcar inspection, maintenance, and repair activities, including applicable AAR, FRA, and company standards.\nSupport daily shop operations, including workflow coordination, production tracking, quality expectations, and communication of operational priorities.\nPromote and reinforce safe work practices while supporting compliance with safety procedures, regulatory requirements, and company expectations.\nLearn and apply basic supervisory practices, including coaching, communication, performance follow-up, employee engagement, and conflict resolution.\nAssist with monitoring labor, materials, staffing coverage, and operating resources to support efficient and effective repair operations.\nDevelop the ability to supervise represented employees in accordance with applicable collective bargaining agreements and company policies.\n\nTraining and Development\nComplete a structured ramp-up period with defined learning objectives and increasing operational responsibility.\nParticipate in formal training covering safety, railcar repair standards, regulatory requirements, operational processes, and leadership expectations.\nReceive mentorship and coaching from experienced supervisors, managers, and operations leaders.\nGain exposure to core areas of FMO repair operations through field-based learning and practical assignments.\nReceive ongoing feedback and development planning throughout the training period.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in business, operations management, engineering, industrial technology, supply chain, transportation, logistics, or a related field preferred.\nEarly career experience through internships, co-ops, campus leadership, military experience, operations exposure, or related hands-on work experience preferred.\nDemonstrated interest in developing into a frontline supervisory role within railcar repair, transportation, manufacturing, maintenance, or industrial operations.\nStrong commitment to safety, learning, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.\nEffective communication, problem-solving, organization, and leadership potential.\n\nWork Environment & Physical Requirements\nThis role combines office and outdoor rail yard work. You’ll be active throughout the day—walking the site, engaging with employees, and supporting operations. Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs), use of tools, and standard vision and communication abilities are required.\nWork schedules may vary depending on operational demands.
