Program Specialist, Board Certified Behavior Analyst

DescriptionJob Title: Special Ed Program Specialist - BCBA Program SpecialistPosition Function: To provide leadership, coordination, and technical assistance to support the implementation of behavior analytic services across the district. This position is part of the district's behavioral support team, supports the Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), provides supervision to RBT's and collaborates with school staff in the development and implementation of effective behavioral interventions to improve student outcomes, improve student outcomes using evidence-based behavioral interventions aligned with educational goals and special education regulations.Employee Punctuality And AppearanceIn order for schools to operate effectively, employees are expected to perform all assigned duties and work all scheduled hours during each designated workday, unless the employee has received approved leaveAny deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employee's supervisor or building administratorAll employees are required to report to work dressed in a manner that reflects a positive image of Wichita Public Schools and is appropriate for their positionAdditional Duties: Assists with additional duties as assigned by Supervisor. Must always comply with WPS guidelines for equipment use.Travel: Frequent travel between schools and central offices may be required.Physical And Mental DemandsWork in standard office and school building environmentsRegular attendance is importantExhibit a friendly professional manner with customersAdditional demands upon request of SupervisorKnowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesKnowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and evidence-based interventionsKnowledge of IDEA and special education compliance requirementsAbility to analyze and interpret student dataStrong consultation, collaboration, and communication skillsAbility to support staff in implementing behavior strategies with fidelityAbility to manage multiple assignments and prioritiesExcellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent personal relationship skillsAbility to organize, communicate effectively, make decisions, work independently and as a member of a teamUse of good judgment to make decisions on recurring assignmentsAbility to communicate effectively with a supervisor when discretion is requiredDisplays a significant degree of professionalism and confidentialityAbility to conform to proper standards of professional dress and appearanceInterrelationsContact with administrative, certified and classified personnel within the district as well as outside vendorsWill be working under the direct supervision of the department supervisor in order to complete day to day tasksWill be working with a diverse population requiring the ability to handle all situations with tact and diplomacyMust understand and respond appropriately to customer needs and maintain a positive attitude with all customers and colleaguesExpected to interact with all internal and external customers in a friendly, professional manner and provide quick, responsive customer serviceQualificationsEssential Performance Responsibilities:Research interventions and best practices in behavior analysis in order to train, model and coach staffAssist with onboarding and mentoring of new BCBAs and behavior staffProvide direct supervision and coaching for BCBAs and RBTsServes as a resource person in areas assigned for all district personnel, students, parents/guardians, and the Student Support Services DivisionUses data to allocate and assign resources to schools to meet student needsSupport implementation of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) aligned with best practicesEnsure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations related to special education and behavior supportsAssist schools in addressing complex student behavioral needs, including crisis situationsAnalyze and use behavioral data to guide program decisions and improve outcomesSupport the integration of behavior supports within Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)Participate in IEP meetings as appropriateAssists with planning, developing, and facilitating the implementation of professional growth of BCBA and RBT staff under the guidance of the special education administrative teamAssists with the development and maintenance of procedural guidelines and training materialsConsult and collaborate with special education and general education staff to appropriately consider and monitor data in order to support successful intensive practices and specialized instructionConsults with and assists special education staff in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans for pupils and assists and supports staff as they determine free appropriate public education (FAPE) for individual studentsQualification ProfileActive Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certificationMaster's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, School Psychology, or EducationExperience in behavior intervention, specifically with children aged 3-21Strong communication and leadership skillsPrior public school experience preferredFLSA Status: Exempt
