This role is responsible for the technical operation, reliability, and continuous improvement of a complex enterprise data pipeline that integrates ERP and operational data from multiple source systems into downstream analytics and reporting environments.\r\nThis position involves owning the technical health of the Insight pipeline, supporting data ingestion, change data capture (CDC), transformation processing, reporting integrations, and platform operations. The engineer will work closely with engineering, operations, and product teams to ensure data accuracy, platform stability, and successful delivery of enhancements and operational support activities across client environments.\r\nLocation: This role must be performed in the CGI Lafayette, LA office.\r\nData Pipeline & Platform Operations\r\nConfigure, deploy, and tune Debezium source and integration connectors for Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server environments.\r\nManage Kafka topics, offsets, Schema Registry artifacts, and connector configurations.\r\nOperate and optimize Kafka, Zookeeper, Schema Registry, and Kafka Connect workloads running on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) via Rancher.\r\nCoordinate controlled restarts, workload tuning, and resource allocation changes as needed.\r\nSnowflake Engineering\r\nDevelop and maintain Snowflake transformation logic, including:\r\nStreams\r\nTasks\r\nStored Procedures\r\nRetention configurations\r\nQuery performance tuning\r\nMonitor and troubleshoot data processing workflows to ensure accuracy and reliability.\r\nPower BI Development\r\nBuild and extend Power BI semantic models and reporting solutions.\r\nDesign and maintain\r\nData models\r\nDAX measures\r\nRow-Level Security (RLS)\r\nIncremental refresh processes\r\nGateway and workspace configurations\r\nOptimize report and dataset performance against Snowflake-backed data environments.\r\nIncident Resolution & Operational Support\r\nResolve issues involving\r\nStale data\r\nReplication failures\r\nSchema and code defects\r\nStored procedure issues\r\nTimeout conditions\r\nCDC and stale-stream problems\r\nFocus on root-cause remediation rather than temporary workarounds.\r\nSource Database Activities\r\nLead source database activities including\r\nRefreshes\r\nBlue-Green deployments\r\nCadence package upgrades\r\nFull-load resynchronization\r\nCDC re-enablement\r\nDA report validation\r\nAutomation & Observability\r\nImprove pipeline observability and operational automation.\r\nSupport\r\nIAP alert design\r\nAutomated redeployment processes\r\nConnector configuration backup strategies\r\nRunbook creation and maintenance\r\nUpdate operational documentation following incident investigations and platform changes.\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\n8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform Engineering, or related enterprise technology environments.\r\n3+ years of hands-on experience supporting Kafka, Debezium, Snowflake, and cloud-based data integration platforms in production environments.\r\nHands-on production experience with Debezium and Kafka, including: Source and sink connectors, History topics, Schema evolution, Offset management, Topic rewind and redeployment procedures.\r\nStrong experience with Snowflake, including: Streams, Tasks, Stored Procedures, SnowSQL / Snowpipe, Query performance tuning, INFORMATION_SCHEMA diagnostics.\r\nStrong understanding of source database internals, including: Oracle LogMiner, SQL Server CDC, PostgreSQL CDC enablement and management.\r\nExperience operating Azure and Kubernetes environments.\r\nExperience developing Power BI semantic models and reports.\r\nExperience with code reviews, build/release management, technical documentation, and operational runbooks.\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nExperience supporting CGI Advantage Financials, HRM, Procurement, or comparable large ERP platforms.\r\nExperience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools for connector management, secrets management, and Kubernetes deployments.\r\nPython or Java experience supporting validation utilities, pipeline tooling, and engineering accelerators.\r\nFamiliarity with automation platforms, APM tools, monitoring solutions, and Jira-based workflows.\r\nCompensation and Benefits\r\nCGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
